Lets see we got a welder/ Blacksmith/ a steampunk maniac with mechanical knowledge, A shaman basically,  woodworker, A general labourer. Numerous people who could be defense people...  The venus project implies heavy technology which sadly we might need to skip out on if this community were to emerge. ( and I'm saying we don't want a massive community just enough to create a village.) the biggest issues would be creating a sustainable source of power if we desire the use of electricity (I could personally survive without it, but I'm a bit crazed..) A water source, (either river or well.. but land with brooks and such are heavily regulated with governmental agencies, and a way to pay default property taxes.. Income taxes and other stuff shouldn't be that much of an issue, and honestly if the only income is used to pay taxes for a large group of people it shouldn't be an issue.

The best way to make houses in situation would either be to scavenge..Or build partially or fully underground homes... The savings of doing so is impressive in the long term as the earth insulates quite well keeping things a rather steady and nice temperature.  Local fauna would need to be taken account of what can thrive naturally in the region.. and anything that we desire we must either make ourselves, scavenge for cheap,or free (Ever see the free section of craigslist? I'm convinced you could gather enough supplies to build a house with a tank of gas.) A year round garden would be a must. But with the way we make buildings must be done in an more antiquated style,( Think more of old european style, or frontier days.)

So basically the first 4 months would be the roughest. it would require straight up grunt work to dig the foundation of the village.  resource planing and execution of plans. Planing ahead is where this would either succeed or fall apart. Also we'd need to get used to the lack of money... In the community.. So food and stuff would be community based... rather then individual to give us all a shot at surviving . Meals wouldn't be fancy but hearty and healthy. Yes we'd need to raise livestock and yes we'd need to slaughter and process some. It'd take time to get adjusted to it, but I feel after awhile it would pay off. There'd be less overall burdens and less bullshit I feel. After a year though depending on how much "chaos" emerges from conflict of interests we'd either have a functioning society *crosses finger* or a divided community nightmare which will fail due to people not agreeing getting nothing done and nothing positive occurring.

Yes I'd also be figuring out how to produce ale and other such things that helped people survive back in the old days...  Damn I wish i had my post apoc book on my pandora now.. I could write some more into it.   I feel I've put way to much thought into this idea... granted I'm the person whose figured out entire economies and governments of fictional nations in my fictional stories..   Not sure if I'm smart... or just plain insane

Edit; PS if anybody wants to discuss this with me just message me I'd love a discussion on such a topic matter...  :D

/Overly dramatic statement

I would add some context but can't marshall the willpower.

I have been a bit busy lately trying to get everything back on track after some recent problems with some paperwork and financial resources of mine caused by unexpected events in one person's life and the inability of bureaucracy to adapt.

Translation:  For a little over a week I have been trying to work with the university and college where I am taking classes, however each has different paperwork requirements for everything.  Additionally, the government agencies that are assisting me in paying for classes also need confirmation from the schools, and while the information may be the same, the way the schools gather this information are with different forms specific to them.  Each individual I speak to gives me a different set of requirements, and I have ended up reapplying to the college where I have been taking classes for the last couple years (due to information from one person), only to find out that by doing this I added more paperwork I needed to provide them, even though they already have everything they needed had I not reapplied.  The person who finally decided to directly help me had a family emergency come up last week, and I was dropped for not meeting payment deadlines, and because the people who were still around did not have access to the documents and communication through email of the person I was working with.  My advisor at the university was trying to provide anything from there that might help with paperwork requirements for the college to allow for my dual enrollment (however the people providing information to the government don't seem to have processed required paperwork their, but, luckily, some grant money I have seems to have temporarily covered it).  I even had to request that the instructor for one of my classes tell a few different departments at the college that I have been attending classes, which they already had documentation of.  Eventually, with the help of the person that had the family emergency, one of my teachers, and my advisor from the university, I got everything sorted at the college.  I am still trying to fix the method of payment being used at the university.  All 5 of my classes have already started, and I still haven't purchased books due to everything else I have been working on.  I went to the new office of my former advisor at the college, which is down the hall from the people who tried to help but ended up causing me to get dropped from my classes, and the person that got me back in, and the supervisor of that department saw me while I was leaving and started talking to me, which made everything very awkward.  It seems my former advisor has already pissed some people off after moving to her new office because she disassembled and moved the second desk from her office into the hall and moved her couch in there.  Fortunately I can still go bug her, as we both get on people's nerves a bit.

I was going to comment on the community that Lora and DrHAX have been discussing, but I have wasted all the time I had alloted for that by explaining why I haven't been able to keep up with the discussion, and now I have to get over to the college for my class.  Maybe I will have time tonight while I look for books.

I am so sick of formal education.

I got a taste of that with my welding classes were they dropped me because I didn't make payments(apparently...).... The teacher was pissed off and offered any way to help we ended up just putting the entire class onto an interest free  credit card and moving on with transferring it to a cheap loan. Its stupid how there was NO INFORMATION and CONFLICTING information on payment.. Honestly I don't like college..especially after being told in the city since I was a white male I wouldn't amount to anything... LITERALLY said that to my face.  I'm personally sick of feeling like my life is held ransom by things that are out of my control, or by other people.. I'm sick of working a low  paying job and living with parents who lack any true desire to help me progress and only blame my fiance for my downfalls... when they themselves don't like helping me in the first place. I'm very sick of the fabric of this society entirely... To the point I DO want to leave it. I would love to go start a community else were under a set of more primitive community based laws. I like the individual but I detest people in general.

Yes I failed my second drivers test... Right from the get go a lady in a small eco box BLEW past me doing 40 (in a 30 zone) while I was trying to get out of the parking lot while everybody else was  TURNING IN FRONT OF ME without using their flippin' turn singles... The lady blew past me as i was starting to move I put on my brakes right before the instructor screamed stop but since she yelled stop

Auto fail... Right form the get go.. this happened TWO times during this test.. during the second time I asked if I failed.. she said yes I drove right back to the station and just had to stop myself from completely breaking down... I'm so f£&king sick of people, I'm so sick of the bullshit, I'm so sick of it all.. I want to live... That's all I'm asking for yet it seems to  way to F£&KIN' much to ask for.

All I want is a tiny ounce of freedom so I could live my life...

Lets hope the fifth test is better..... I'm so sick of everything.
