Port Requests

Colors!

Developer's Facebook page (sic):

"The Colors! source have been available to various programmers with the intention of porting it to various platforms, for example OPLC/XO or Pandora. Anyone who is interested in doing stuff like that are very welcome to e-mail me at jens (aht) collectingsmiles (doht) com"

The developer is reluctant to release the source code openly, so if you're interested in developing an app for the Pandora, get ahold of this guy!

This was initially just a homebrew app for the Nintendo DS, but it's been ported to the icrApps store and discontinued on the DS, but there's hope: This would be awesome to have ported to the Pandora.

Resistive touchscreen put to good use ^_^

Could someone add this app request to the Wiki, that'd be appreciated. Thanks :)

1. Colors is closed sourced.

2. Theres already First already ported myPaint. I'm a big Colors fan, but I really prefer this now :)

Has anybody mentioned Nifflas' games?

3 of them are freeware, I don't know if that's the same as opensource though...

They are very good.

Out of all Nifflas' games, the one most people want is Knytt Stories. It is open source, but the platform used to develop is MMF, which is not available on Pandora. There is an open-source DS version written in C, which will be easier to port but will require a lot of modification to run on Pandora, and I doubt that there's anyone willing to do it. I may look at it when my current port is finished, but it's still a lot of work.

Could anybody port FinalBurn Alpha to the Pandora?

apparently there was at one point a port as a work in progress, but the source code was never released and it's since been abandoned.

It works in GINGE for a number of games, but the controls can't be configured in the Wiz version or in ginge, and the action buttons aren't mapped to the triggers to allow you to use the d-pad with the right hand and the left hand for the action buttons. The pandora's flip screen in the way makes it impossible to play with the left hand on the d-pad

The source code for the pc version is here:

http://www.barryharris.me.uk/fba.php

It seems like it would probably be easier to port the wiz version, but I couldn't find the source code anywhere.

Does anyone know any of the (awesome) guys involved in the (really impressivve) Streets of Rage fan remake "SorR" (see here http://www.bombergames.net/sorr_project/ )?

A native port of this would be awesome. It appears to be closed source, but it's free and they've announced Linux and Wiz ports :)

My Requests:

The Official Hamster Republic Role Playing Game Creation Engine

----------

This is pretty much an open-source RPG Maker.

A port would allow dozens, nay, hundreds of RPGs to be played on the Pandora.

Syobon Action

-----------

A really hard Mario parody.

If ported, please don't throw your Pandora out the window while playing this.

I'd like to see a port of Micropolis, the open source version of SimCity.

http://donhopkins.com/home/micropolis/

The source is there, it should have no problems running on the pandora.
Tried this one, had to install some libs, errors remain in some .y file (parsed by yacc). But i have no clue what yacc does or anything, so i guess my port attempt stops here

yacc is a text parser generator. You give it a grammar for a "language" or format, and it generates a parser that calls functions based on input strings. IIRC .y files are the generated parser source files, generally not intended to be viewed in the raw form except for debugging purposes.

Yeah, after googling i figured that much. Still, about 50 errors when it tries to parse the .y file, and no idea how to fix it

^I'd be willing to take a look at it. Not saying I can fix it, but I'll give it a go if no one else volunteers (I'm looking at you, Exophase).

Hi there, some guys (incl. myself) on the german forum would pay 20€(now 30€) for somebody that does the following job:

Mineque_OSD_Layout_02.jpg

Target:

NAVIT (a free Navigation tool, fully customizable and support for OpenStreetMap routing datas)

Previous attemps:

A old Angstrom port had been well documented. The tool is quite modular and had been ported to a lot of platforms already.

Tasks:

  1. Compile a OMAP binary
  2. Adapt the configuration to Pandora needs (view control using nubs, OSD fit to screen, right GUI toolkit,...)
  3. Make sure you include a working Text-to-speech engine as speechd, espeak,...
  4. Create a PND
  5. Make sure users are able to alter navit.xml without unstripping the PND
  6. Document your steps at Navit on OpenPandora
  7. (opt. make a OpenStreetMap data loader similar to the Android port, that allows fetching OSM Navit data packeges easily to the right directory and registers them)

Might be the right job for you during easter? Would surely be a real good thing to our community as well, I'm that sure that we will give you a bonus :)

I am that other guy :) I tried it for myself but I am too stupid for it. I use Navit on my Palm Pre and it works like a charm, so I am pretty sure it will work on the Pandora as well.

Maybe we will find some more who are interested in raising the pot for this Port Request.
