Beta ptitSeb's Beta Lair

GLFrontier works well on my GHz Pandora. Took me a while to figure out the controls are A/Z/</>, with space on shoot, and speed controls on shift(left trigger) and enter.

Most importantly, how am I meant to quit this? I've been able to exit to the load screen, but hitting escape there just dumps you through to the first start point.
Quit is Crtl-Q

Controls are the same as on the AtariST. I haven't remaped anything, but if you have suggestion...

Well, I was thinking that copying the controls you implemeted for OOLite would be a good start, but on consideration that's probably overkill, as a lot of the keys in OOLite seem to have been replaced by GUI controls here.

I'd suggest maybe a/z/</> on the d-pad, laser (space) on the B button (or X if you insist). You could put speed up/down on the shoulders, assuming we don't need them later for modifiers like we ended up with on OOLite. I've never played enough Frontier to really know what controls you need rapid access to - does it have an ECM device, for example?

Edit: I guess you might need to therefore move camera controls to A/Z/</> since those seem to currently be mapped to the d-pad, when you're in the right camera mode. I do think flight controls should be the priority though, and therefore on the d-pad (assuming that doesn't upset any ST purists).

I'm curious about a thing, because with my pc I'm fiddling with emulationstation, and I've seen a couple of threads where you told you were including it in some PND as a frontend for included emulators...

But couldn't it be made as a standalone PND ? so to launch directly the other emulators PNDs ? It could become like the one ring to rule them all

(That's not a request, I will not use my Panda for this type of things for now, just curious)

It's what I wanted to do in fact (I must have messed up my explanation). But I haven't worked on this for a long time now. I need to reactivate that project...

Thanks for "Frontier", will check it out! This might become a good replacement than the Wiz-Version due to better controle. Started for 10 minutes last weekend, it takes time getting used to the steering, I´ll write it down to a sheet since I never had a ST but it´s DOS verison. :)

Ooooh. GLfrontier, thanks for the port!

I tried to get into elite 2 for amiga, but got really frustrated and gave up. I was able to get off to a good start trading, but even the first combat situation annoyed the hell out of me. All I wanted was to dock somewhere and get rid of my wares, but the pirates just wouldn't let go. So I tried my luck at combat and at those high speeds, it was seemingly impossible to land a hit with my laser... even with engines off.

I think I need to try again...

In Frontier, at first, you seem to be able to do everything with the touchscreen; unfortunately, after a few minutes, its offset getting bigger and bigger by every minute, so you are left with the nubs; an external USB mouse would do wonders here. Other than that, looks fine so far.
1. Would change of drivers help to stop the increasing touchscreen offset? :)
2. What matters more, I seem to fail to SAVE a game. Always says "Disc full". Even changing the directory in-game won´t help. Hmmm :)

Changing driver wont help for the offset. I'm not sure anything can really help, unless I change a lot the way mouse is controled. Not sure how/if possible...

The save issue, that's anoying indeed. I'll have a look, hopefully it's just a permission issue.

Well, there is probably a solution, but just keeping the mouse in Absolute mode instead of relative, but mouse/nub user may found the solution less good, as it will limit the mouvement when right-clicking for piloting (as the mouse will not be abble to go outside of the screen).

Request a port of filezilla secure. There is already a port of filezilla on the repo, filezilla secure has two improvements:
1. Does not store passwords plain text like the original (and based on the 4G discussions many people here are concerned about security).
2. Increases the number of transfer threads for increased speed!

I tried Torus Trooper last thing last night, and it ran well. It's an easy game to get into, giving you 1'30" of playtime regardless of how you do (so long as you can avoid dying too often), and it's impressive to look at - perhaps my favourite of the D games that have been ported to Pandora thus far. I ran it first forgetting to upclock my Pandora to 1100MHz, and ran it at 600, and the framerate was slow, but I'd still class it as playable, so I have hopes that it may play okay on CC units. An 1100MHz it ran much smoother of course.

I'm using a 1GHz Pandora and the stock graphics blob from a recent reflash fwiw.

Hi again,

Torus Trooper is indeed running well on my Rebirth, OC'ed to 1 GHz with SGX driver 4.10.

Cheers, Magic Sam

Torus Trooper work realy fine here on my fresh reflashed GHZ Pandora with normal SGX Driver.
I changed my SGX Driver not for this.
Wow what for a fast Game :)

Thanks @ingoreis for the video.

I have added a new beta of Yabause in 1st post. I don't think it faster, but it may be more compatible? Not sure at all, that's why it's on beta thread and not on the repo.
