Test the keymat!

can you make that pub in Queensland? lol

*LOL* As appealing such an idea may seem, that would be logistically somewhat... impractical ;)

Seriously though, the pub I have in mind is the Melbourne Central Lion. and anyone interested is invited to join me there. Only trouble is that I don't have any way of knowing exactly when I'll have the keymat, so it's going to be on pretty short notice with regards to the timing.

I would have jumped on board... except I was sure to be the only South African.... and as I travel around the country, it may end up languishing at the post office for a week or two before I could even get to it.

Just not worth the hassle IMHO.
I will prefer to just read the reviews posted by the other testers.

I think your routing algorithm impedes my privacy ;)
I hope they are not using RIP but rather OSPF then :D

(and yes, I just had to learn all that routing stuff so I am showing off ^^)

Dang I wish I had seen this earlier, missed the opportunity. But I really don't have a lot of money right now, so it's probably for the best :(
You guys should all make a funny picture with it and post them in a thread, the keymat that travelled the world.
@EvilDragon will you continue the chain at some point? Would be cool if it really did travel around the globe...

Anyways, here is the ordered list where the keymats will go.
I'll ship it out tomorrow :)

So - @fahrstuhl, what country does the keymat test device land in first?

It would be mildly entertaining if we each posted a picture of the keymat test device with a local landmark in the background.

It says Germany, unsurprisingly if you click the link you made to his user account.

I'm not sure if anyone in that list is from northern England. If so, I'd love to meet said user in a pub (but the odds are they're based in the south east).

So it seems the keymat will travel Europe, visit the USA and Australia, then hopefully get back to Europe. The last one gets to keep it, right? :p

That is it? I thought a lot of people would want to try the keymat. I'm sure after pictures/videos begin to be posted more will want to test it. If so will you add to this list or send a second keymat out?

EDIT: Oh crap, I need to change where I live, I don't live in Salt Lake anymore. If anyone lives there and wants to test it I can go there for a meetup, it is 4 hours away from where I live now but it is a much bigger city and I understand there are probably more people there that want to see it.

It's here! (Although it must have arrived yesterday, I just didn't get to check the mail. Sorry for that.)

I have to do some other stuff first and will post more photos and opinions later this evening.
Tomorrow's a holiday in Germany, so I'll send it along tomorrow evening. That way it'll be collected as early as possible on Tuesday.

But in short:
The keymat is really good. The keys are light, but have a nice click. Doing all the revisions was worth it.
The DPAD needs more click.
The nubs are awesome.
I like the translucent case :D

I find the case scarily thick:

From top to bottom:
Pandora
Pyra
Original Nintendo DS
Moto G4 Android Smartphone from 2016

Any questions, photo or video requests?

Edit: I just realized: @EvilDragon , @SneHebNor , I don't have the address where to send it next. That would be useful :D

Thanks for your Experiences whit the Keymat,
Seems like it's fine..

Looking forward for your next pictures

As long the Pyra isn't twice as thick than the Pandora, i think i can live whit it,

I think I will like the thickness of the Pyra in hand, but pocketability has been a concern of a few of us for a while. Since the case is accompanying the keymat maybe everyone can try it out in their usual pockets and let us know if it seems like it would be a problem.

For me the Pandora is already pushing the limits in regards to thickness in pockets.. Pyra really needs a case that enables me to carry it on my belt.

I carry my Pandora this time of the year in a messenger bag. In colder months I can fit it in a coat pocket too. I suspect either will also be able to accommodate a Pyra too for that matter.

Maybe cargo pants will come back into style?

I'd rather have it comfotable to hold than not need big pockets. I think the Pandora is very comfortable. I never liked the GBA or SP, the Nomad, GG, and DS XL were the right size.
