LCD connection of one my Pandora's couldn't be repaired but I can still use it with TV out.
My aim is now to make a very small cheap arcade machine.

A standard tv is too large so I want to connect it to a 7 or 10 inch screen. Looked on ebay for monitors with composite connection but couldn't find any good examples. Looking for prices <$60
Any advise?

You could look for "car tft" - that's what my 8" screen has been sold as, or for "mini tv". Affordable ones come from China.

Yes, I've had one of those in my amazon basket for about a year now I think. The only thing stopping me is it only takes composite input, while currently I use my crippled Pandora over s-video on my old CRT TV, and composite on the same TV is notably more blurry. That's a 32 inch set though, so on a sub-10 inch display this might be less obviously suboptimal.

I know the playstation screen is only 5" but that's probably one of the better ones, you just need to hack the AV out.

Mini tv tft gave me one option that is not too expensive. I assume "1 x AV Line" means it can be used by the Pandora?

Searching for mini tv was mainly providing a lot of projectors. Cheap ones are probably crap but still might be an interesting option for someone else.

I am hoping that smaller displays will cause less blur, I've tried the Pandora on my 21 " TV (composite) and I wasn't impressed by the image quality. Too bad you didn't buy it yet and don't wait for me I would love to read some user experience before I buy one ;)

5" is a bit too small tbh - I am looking for 7 - 10" and prefer 7" (I was rooting for a 7" screen for the Pyra as well)

I'd recommend getting a 2nd hand 9 or 10" trinitron CRT for a mini arcade.

Nice idea - might be a good suggestion for someone else, but I am looking to build a small portable 'and very low tech' mini arcade machine. A crt might be best for a real arcade experience, but it makes it less portable.

The 5,6" from pollin.de is too small, but the 7" looks interesting - does CVBS mean it can be used on the Pandora? Some googling suggests it is composite.

This one is not too bad.

I have this one, it's working but that's about it. Quality of the picture is very bad and has pink horizontal lines on the sides of the 4:3 composite input. Also the viewing angle is horrible the angle of the screen has to be set just right for a good picture.
I think I paid 15 $ for it on a chinese website.
I think CVBS means Composite Video BuS (wild guess) ;) Anyway, Yes it's Composite.
[doublepost=1497988577,1497988065][/doublepost]Oh, and also... The S-Video output of the Pandora gives a way better picture than the composite output does. It might be worth it to look into a screen that accepts that or adding a converter/scaler from S-Video to VGA or something digital. Something like this perhaps? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AV-S-Video-...er-Adapter-for-HDTV-DVD-Monitor-/252955226274

Build it in a Super Nintendo Case with a Retrode2 like my old Idea: :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with the low res screen - I'd rather buy something that is tested and confirmed to be working well by a community member. So I will not buy that screen.
The s-video to vga converter might something to look into if the screen I buy will not have a good enough composite image.

Link below could be interesting, higher resolution and also has a touch screen. It is not mentioned as far as I can tell, but I assume touch screen is capacitive. I have no idea if the touch screen will work out of the box but it should work with the raspberry pi.

Don't think I will need a touch screen though and the one below has a higher resolution and pretty cheap < 30 Euro incl. shipment.
It has AV and VGA (I assume AV is compatible with the TV-out of the Pandora?)
If the AV quality is bad I can always try the VGA with the suggested converter.
