GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

Yesterday, i got my Nintendo Games (GBA GB GBC NES SNES N64) to run, Playstation 1 is a bit tricky because the Gamepad,
GTA San Andreas ditnt work (its needs Direkt X 9 but i have Direkt X 9 allready..
Quake 2, Settler 2 (Remake), Farming Simulator 2009, 18 Wheels of Steel, and Mount and Blade (from GOG) works quite good,
The GPD WIN Fits in my Pocket, this is something i truy out today,

But the Device is Power Off, i dotnt know how many heat the Intel Atom in my Pocket makes,

So : Can i put the GPD WIN (Rev 2) in Standbye (Low Power Mode) in my Pocket ?? Or whill this be too hot for the device??
And how long do the device run in Low Power Mode ??
I can remember from my Pandora, that Low Power and Pocket wasnt an Issue, as the Omap ditnt made any heat, but on the GPD Win, there is a little Fan...

And what happens, if i run something like the N64 Emulator whit the FAN turning of ?? Whill its overhead and gets damaged, or just trottle down ??

To connect the GPD Win whit my Beats Bluetooth Headphones was quite easy :)

My Next Stepp is to install Steam, and some Indie Games like Minecraft, Terraria and Retro City Rampage, and Gerrys Mod, as Shooter Games works quite well whit the Nubs..

What is great, using a mouse is all the infinity engine games, that is all the baldur's gate games. I used the ee version from steam and that worked directly out of the box... Mileage can vary if you use the legacy version i guess, but these are great games on the win...

thanks for the suggestions, but i think i will load Minecraft from the Microsoft Store, and Terraria and Retro City Rampage and Garrys Mod from Steam,
Scummvm should also work great, and Dungeon Keeper (got this Game from GOG for Free)..
Just found out, in Windows 10, they ditnt put the good old Windows Mini Games in: Solitär, Minesweeper, etc , but there are packages in the internet, to bring they back..
when i uninstall all games that ditnt run, and delete the isos, i should get enough space for some of my Steam Games..

As I understand it, the CPU should throttle and eventually turn off if it's generating too much heat for the system to get rid of. But that could be at some 80-90 degrees or so, so still rather uncomfortable for whoever's wearing the trousers potentially. If you notice you leg getting overly warm, remove the device, but it shouldn't be harmed unless it's something other than the SoC producing the heat and not able to throttle effectively. Also, I guess the battery would be the first thing affected by excess heat, so I'd remove it if you feel any real increase in temperature after putting it in your pocket.

The CPU can definitely throttle there, but the fan does a huge difference compared to similar device without...

Update on Games: i bought GTA San Andreas for about 5 € in the Microsoft store: this version works great, supports the Controller and ditnt need a No CD Patch from a website in the internet
Played the first mission , plays pretty good on this device
Only my cheats for the normal pc version ditnt work

I also installed steam whit terraria and Retro City Rampage

And some other things from the store :
The Minecraft Windows 10 and a YouTube app

I had the Gpd Win about 5 hours whit standby mode on in my pocket, it ditnt got warm and the battery also ditnt loose much current it was the whole time at 99percent
So it seems this should work

Fascinating how games works "out of the box" due Windows. :) I actualy need an mobile device with that skills, this or a laptop, not sure yet.
How good does Minecraft from the store perform? I know the Win10 version is very well optimized and should run much better than the Java version. (does Java Version run at all on GPD Win?).

Ditnt truyed the Java Version, because I wanted to download it from mojang but couldn't log in whit my old account
But I think I will test it whit my Minecraft.jre some time this weekend

I don't see any reason for the Java version not to work. It is pretty much playable, better if you install Optifine. But yeah, the Windows 10 version runs A LOT better, judging from the videos I've seen.

Seems like the Powersuply isn't Powerful enough to charge the GPD Win while it's runs GTA San Andreas, it's now at 53 %
I even god the chances to take a plane, until i got shot from the Fighting Jets because it's too early in the game , only los santos is playable..
but it's good to know that the old trick works, to climb over the airport gate whit the help of a car and the roof of the Portiers house:)

I watched a Youtube Video where the GPD Win runs even Overwatch fine. I only play 2 games right now, Overwatch and Diablo 3, so these are interesting discoveries for me. :D GPD already made an "version 2" or "2.5", they are really fast. I wish that the Pyra development went that smooth and just in time (not that this can be compared actualy, I know).

I like to use my GPD Win to watch YouTube videos:)
Because the Screen is big and thanks to clamshell, I can put the device somewhere, unlike my iPhone which ditnt have a stand

I noticed that the Device gets pretty warm while it's get charged, but in low power mode, the fan will be deaktivatet
This can't be good ??

Nothing serious, Intel chipset can handle around 100°C.

I never had above 67 °c under full load and while charging. It's not going to melt, it's not a toy.

You can charge it and use it a at the same time for lightweight task without fan.

I use my Pandora alot for Youtube Videos, but not directly. I have no real Internet where I work/school over the week so I preload the Videos. Sadly, I have to convert every one to plain mpeg4 because Pandora has trouble with H.264 encoded Videos (the website that downloads youtube Videos produces H.264 encoded stuff). I'm sure the GPD Win can play H.264 fine, even in HD. ^^

The Hori Lan Adapter for the Switch also works on the GPD Win
Now I try to download Gothic 2 and 3 and Half Life 2 via Steam
I got the Gothic Games for a pretty good price some years ago, so it's maybe time for portable Gothic:)

Really? I don't have any issues with h.264 as long as it is NOT 720 or 1080p (neither of those work) but normal h.264 torrents work great

I can report Half Life 2 works great on GPD Win :)
I also wanted it to be downloaded to have some maps for Garry's Mod ..
Next will be Gothic II Gold Edition and Gothic 3

I can play 1080p h264 videos, even 10-bit blueray rips on my Pandora. Now to do this I use Universal Media Server to Transcode it real time to an 800x480 Mpeg and stream it to the Pandora using Kodi.

Using Kodi on the Pandora that streams to itself ?
