OpenLara?

I can't even run that on my laptop. Left it running for a couple of hours after getting to a black rectangle, and it was still there when I just checked.

That github looks promising though. Look in src/platform/nix for linux building instructions and scripts.

I really like these projects where they try to reverse engineer a game but I don't get the point for anything PS1 as it is emulated so well. I guess if someone wanted to make custom levels or something.

It ran really well for me, but I have no idea what the controls were so I could just run around.

EDIT: After reading about it yeah, this would be really cool. I noticed the graphics were much much smoother than they are on the PS1. I loaded up Tomb Raider on my Pandora and yeah, doens't look nearly as good.

This would be really cool to get running on the Pandora/Pyra.

It is running on my Pandora, but very slowly for now (and I haven't checked why it does). I have built it for gl4es, but I assume it would be slow too for GLES2. Also, don't have shadows for now, I suppose it's because of the lack of shadow_texture extension. Many things to adjust on this one... Not sure it will works better than the version for PS1 or DosBox+3Dfx (at least for TR1).

Slowiness is due to shadows. Putting shadows on Low make it run at decent speed.

I have to check, but current Linux port use X11 and PulseAudio, that's not ideal, I have to check for an SDL(1/2) backend instead, that would be better for the Pandora.

Sound great, I hoped that you take a look at it. :D
I dont like the shadow, its to big and scares me more then it should. :$
Openlara is the best looking Tomb Raider I have ever seen. The PS1-version is working, but does not look nearly as good. Its just like GLQuake and the normal Quake.
I dont know the DosBox-Version.

Another great thing is, that you could load any Level you want and start there.

Yes, it does look better, and it sems to be smoother too.
But I suspect OpenLara is not a full game yet? It seems pretty playable, true, but I don't know if the transition between level is done, or that kind of things...

Still need to mess around with the code a bit before I can make a PND: I now have alsa sound working, but MP3 track decoding is not correct yet. Also, keymap is not correct either.

(but yeah, it's smoother and prettier then 3Dfx version in DOSBox).
And for the fun, a screenshot of a level of TR1 running on the Pandora (so shadows to LOW).

Yeah, you can't get the full Laura Croft experience because it doesn't play FMV video yet. They would look really out of place next to the gameplay now that it looks a lot better. From watching some youtube videos it looks like everything game-play wise is ready though.

It does play FMV. I only tried with TR1, but it was there, with ok speed.
[doublepost=1538340546,1538336131][/doublepost]A first version is on the repo. Also, I created a thread for the release: https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/openlara.83383/

I think this thread is in the wrong placed and should be moved.
