Hellollo,
this will be now our place for "Funny Cat Videos", or the Videos you made your own..
The Topics are just as you like, as long as its no porn, or something..

Rules are quite Easy: no porn, no offending, (or how this was spelled), no polittical propaganda, please beware of the Board Rules..

- Pyra Videos, (although there is a own Thread), your other Gadgeds, Obscure Handhelds, your cool bigger gadgeds (Unimog etc..)

You can also post the Link of your own Channel, but also your Videos direktly...

So have fun ^^

EDIT: If you made the Video in your own language, if you want, you can make a small translation text..

So porn is now allowed ^^

Yay!

Ok this Porn is allowed (Porndora, hehe) ^^

The Problem whit the Google Translate is that its not quite good, and it depends also a bit on your native akzent,
a "German" Language is not existing in its clear form, there are a lot of regional diverenz, like per exemple bavarian, or "north german platt.. or colonian..

I try to speak clear german, but somethimes, there are some pieces of "Saarländisch"
I dont know if google can do its job then ^^

My Tripod Adapter came in today, so I think I could do my first professional video on Saturday, and I will show of my current Retrosix GBA whit some Games,
On actual cartridges as this Video will also get posted on the German „nintendo-online.de boards so I don’t want to use the Everdrive and Roms although they know that I’m using a Everdrive on day li base ^^

This will be in German, but I try to write some words as translation

This is also something I’m unsure for my Pyra Video: should I make this also in German, because Pyra Videos in German may be rare and I’m not a good English speaker??

This was my last video, and my first video

Send from something, i guess ^^

Your english speaking is fine, But you might be right about there being a dearth of German Pyra videos, I couldn't really say. Although traditionally EvilDragon tends to fill that niche, at least for his more professional videos.

In other words, I dunno. All I can really say is I'll watch whatever you produce pretty much regardless.

I could test whit the GBA Video, if google really translate, if so, I can use German, if not I could use English whit a lot more preparing..

I mean, I must know English as I used it a few years ago in our store whit a Army Men from a US Base who want to keep bees

Hauptsache, machen Sie was Sie wollen.

Warum sietzen Sie mich?
Ich dachte immer in einem Forum wird man gedutzt ^^
Ich bin der Matthias, ich freu mich dich kennenzulernen

Why do you say "Sie" to me? In germany, on Internet Boards, whe say "du" to us ,
Although when you met a older Person in real live you dont know good enough, you say "Sie"

Im 36, i dont have issues whit "du"

I wonder if the Hack Super Pica Land works on a aktuall GBA SP, then i had a fitting game to show on my upcoming Picachu SP

Entschuldigung.

[sorry, I didn't know "du" was the most natural for forums, thanks for teaching me]

Kein Ding ^^ (No Problem) Its also for us Germans a bit confusing that they say only "you" in English Language Countrys,
The GBA Video will be German, and the Pyra Videos will be English.. maybe..

Im still not search for my GB and GBA Cardridges i wanted to play on the Video..

Strictly speaking that depends where you live. I believe in the southern us it's quite common to use "y'all" for plural second person identification. Similarly in the north of the UK it's quite common for people to use 'yous' (which sounds a lot like 'use') for the plural. Originally of course, 'you' was the plural with the singular being 'thou', but you'd have to go back a few centuries to hear that spoken I think.

So, there is now my Masterpiece, seems like my Tripod Adapter works quite good ^^
Although it’s just 360p, I don’t know why,
It’s in German whit my Saarländischen Akzent, but I think you know what I mean as it’s not quite Rocket Science ^^

But it was not about that. My confusion was not between singular "du" and plural "sie", but between singular "du" and singular "Sie" (OK, "Sie" could also be plural, but I didn't use it so).
"du" means "you" for familiy members, younger people and children, forum members, etc. (like French "tu", Eurospanish "tu", etc.). It's more colloquial.
"Sie" means "you" for unknown people, customers, providers, doctors, patients, (like French "vous", Eurospanish "usted", etc.). It's more formal.A ltitle like "You Sir/Milady" in English, but not so exaggerated.
But I don't have the delimitation of cases where formality is required clear enough. It may also change with time (or with places?).

Pragmatics is difficult for me. For example in our first Language classes we were taught salutations.
In English:
- How do you do ?
- How do you do ?
In Spanish
- Como estas / Como esta usted ?
- Bien Gracias, Y tu/usted ?
In Deutsch
- Wie geht's dir/Ihnen ?
- Gut/nicht so gut/es geht's/hervorragend/Heute leider schlecht/ ,danke und dir/Ihnen ?

The thing is that in English you don't even answer, just ask back, in Spanish you always say you are fine because they're just greeting, they're not really asking how you are, and it must be fine to be greeted or something.
And in German you really say how you feel, or how you get along (literally "how it is going for you"), as asked. I've seen people baffled to hear that.
What? should I really say how I am when asked in German, do I really need to check myself, remind me of the whole day, compare with some average and evaluate my mood just for greeting ?
What ? do I just skip the answer and only ask the same question back in English ?
What ? do I say I'm fine even if my mother just died or I got a cold in Spanish?
I once heard someone from Madrid answering "Bien, o te cuento?" which means "Fine, or should I tell you?"

I suggest you write a small script first for the English video, as it could get messy...

That's for colloquial English right? Not for formal polite one; in his case it would sound very estrange to use localisms if he is not from there, as it would sound as if he were imitating the way people from that place speaks...

I once heard someone from Madrid answering "Bien, o te cuento?" which means "Fine, or should I tell you?"

Eurospanish :D that sounds like Euroenglish... Castilian fits better there.

In Spanish it depends if you are speaking colloquial or formal:

In formal "¿Cómo estás?/¿Cómo está?" you are actually asking how is the other doing, so you expect an answer. If the other answers with a "¿Cómo estás?/¿Cómo está?" you can conclude he doesn't want to talk about that (not familiar enough or not doing well...)

In colloquial you are not usually expecting him to tell you his mother died of covid and he got fired afterwards :D that would feel extremely awkward as it is just the beginning of the conversation that most likely will be short, so it is part of the greeting.

Of course there are more ways of asking how is the other doing in Spanish, and also varies by place.

BUT if a German I just met tells me:

"¿Pasa quillo?" ("What's up" southern Spain/Seville style)

I would be like o_O what's with this fellow, is he fucking kidding me or what :p

The Problem is that my handwriting is much worse than my englisch, so it could be that i cant read my Script...
But i try to think about my topics first, and look how pyra relatet therms are said in englisch ^^

What are the thougs so far about my Video?

i liked your review. speed was relaxing and no nerving parts. it felt friendly and nerdy to me. just how i like it.
as an c64 fan, i adored the 'background device' a lot too. :D
and the cam-tripod looks pro.
i would say, a great start. keep them coming!
