Suspending keeps backlight on

I have just received my Pyra and was playing with it and found that when I suspend the device, the backlight of both the screen and the keyboard is not shut down and continues wasting battery. Not the most annoying of the bugs, but there it is.

Suspending here is just another word for "turn screen backlight off". Arm devices do not have the same suspend function as say an pc arch laptop. So everything just stays on until you actually tell it to be off.
Ideally someone would simply add the kb backlight off script to the systemd "on suspend" target.
Whos in for work?

Yeah, although you might still be able to turn down the CPU max speed; although that control seems to be more complicated on the OMAP5 versus the old OMAP3.

I don't think any significant time's been put into getting the units suspending or sleeping or any of that yet; there have been bigger fish to fry thus far. Worth getting this logged though, for someone to work with.

Closing the lid should switch off the backlight of the LCD at the moment (AFAIR).
We've not yet included that for the keyboard backlight, I usually switch it off manually before closing the lid.

Well, I only have the keyboard backlight enabled when I'm dark rooms anyways :)
