Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Progress has been slowed due to obvious reasons, so unless you're a pre-pre-orderer (in the first 200), then don't expect an email for at least 8 weeks, then it will be the first early pre-orderers who will be getting theirs from the first 500 units. Unfortunately, it's a tough waiting game for most of us, but the processes are being gradually refined I believe.
Problem is at this rate (being almost half way through 2021), that first 500 queue could stretch us into Q4 2021 or even 2022 if slowdown..
My fear is that the rollout is TOO slow too late, and that without a massive rollout the community will be extremely small and little hype will be created.
I mean jeez, there are ~100 people out there with Pyra's and there is basically nothing out there at all about it. No reviews, no hackers / modders doing projects with it on YT, even the forums are looking sad...
The massive issue is that basically all aspects of the device are EOL and significantly out of date as of like 2015. When now we have multiple real UMPC makers that make nice desktop performance platforms (Aya, GPD, One Notebook, etc) it's going to be a hard sell for many.
Writing on the wall is looking bleak for the Pyra in my eyes outside of a niche collector piece -- but please don't take this as anything other than honest criticism. Time to shat or get off the pot if we want a vibrant community like the Pandora.

I want a Pyra and cannot stop thinking about it. It has so much potential.

If I could be certain of getting one before x-mas then I would gladly preorder.

Sorry just venting.

It's no worse than the Pandora was back in the day. That was basically no more than about 200 units in the wild for a good couple of years and only notaz making shakeycam videos for us to enjoy.
Yeah, but back then was a bit different? Only had basic smart phones, GP2X Win's, Dingoo a320's for competition. They were great but that era ended imo. Now for competition we've got, GPD-randomgibberishNumber, powerful smart phones, psp/vitas, a plethora of small retro emu handhelds (Anbernic rg350, rg351's), retroid pockets, and a million things powered by raspberry pi's. I know pyra is a awesome linux box first and foremost, and it's good software that unleashes the protentional of hardware. But its not 2009/2010 anymore. I'm still looking forward to grabbing one when its all done, but I have picked up 4 other handheld devices during its development process. That's life though.

Ah yes just to remind you according to a big group of people the pandora was obsolete before the first one was delivered, very much like the pyra now. To many the pandora still is not obsolete even being from 2010, for others it has never been (the inverse of obsolete)... For instance raspberry pi's were around when the pandora birthed as well same holds for smartphones.. as were a lot of things!

For sure, just wish my pandora didn't die years ago from lcd cable. But yeah, there was other things out then, but (to me) it just felt like the most advanced device at the time, for a handheld. I don't remember many pi1/2 based handhelds, but they did exist for sure. Just feels more crowded now days.

Not even Pyra could make my Pandoras go obsolete. They might have to be stagehands. But, they'll always be a part of the show.

Like the emulated machines I utilize on Pandora, it itself is a machine that I intend to treat like a classic car. I'm not a car aficionado but I can understand why they would appreciate the upkeep of a unique, cared for, and loved machine. Something that stepped out from the crowd even if people told them not to.
