Dunno if they are the latest but I can't find newer ones.
I have not tested this game and it seems so cool, did not even know that there was a...
I will try the charge cable with my usb<>wall adaptor (500mA vs. 1A) to see if it still turns off or not. May be useful one day when all my batteries are dead. :)
Ok I just tried again with standard usb cable (no wall adaptor) and it finally seems stable without any battery. Don't know what...
It does actually (at least all mine work without battery with just the charge cable) but it turns off when processing something that demands too many resources (like launching a rom under an emu for instance). usb power (5V/500mA) might not be enough I guess, don't know.
Replace your PrBoom.gpe content with the following script and save it with Unix end of line format:
echo 2 > /proc/cpu/alignment
echo 0 > /proc/cpu/alignment
This way all pwads (at least all the ones I tried) will work fine.
When I try with 2 modules loaded (warm and mmuhack set to 1), I still have to launch it at least twice to unload them both.
But anyway, my initial intention was to figure out where this performance drop came from and it's clearer now thanks to your help. Moreover, as that's quite logical to use...
You wrote 'rmmod warm 2>>cold.log' for mmuhack, I guess you meant 'rmmod mmuhack 2>>cold.log'?
But still needs to be launched twice at least for me. The 1st time, it passes busy module to status '0' (free). Then it closes it. So, maybe it happens only with module in use (with status at least at...
Thanks for this script hmn. :)
But it seems that it needs to be launched sometimes twice to kill all modules. And I noticed that anyway, even when all modules are unloaded, performance drop will still be there.
The only solution I found is to use the same mmuhack/warm file for all my apps...
Yeah I just saw that some app create /dev/mmuhack. Deleting it does not solve any other app launch as, as you said, it won't undo changes done in memory.
Dropping caches does not solve anything as everybody may know, it's only a bad idea under Linux as free memory is considered as useless one...
Yes, some apps like Temper or DrPocketSnes leave mmuhack stored somewhere, that's why it can make following opened apps have worse performance. If we cannot free this memory, I found a way to prevent this issue from happening by using the same version of mmuhack for all my apps and each of them...
I agree with hmn, I would like to have them both homogeneous with old links updated. I have a few that would need an update because they are not the last version (PCSX reARMed, DrPocketSnes, MAME4ALL...) and as their link are broken on the internet, that would be a shame to lose them 'forever'.
When trying to update an archive (some of them are not up-to-date) in Wiz section, I get the following error message: 'Error: File url is invalid' even if I did not select URL field but 'Upload File' one.
Is it a known issue?
Ok I found what caused this. DrPocketSnes had a different warm_2.6.24.ko file from PCSX, which is persistently loaded somewhere in the memory (a place not affected by RAM freeing command), and that made PCSX unable to load. So I used the one of PCSX for DrPocketSnes and it seems to work now for...
I'm still trying to understand and tweak some little things on my Wiz and notice a strange behavior that I still cannot fix.
After closing a specific app (here DrPocketSnes 7.2.1) I can't launch PCSXreARMed r18 in the same session as PCSX just returns to the launcher right...
Not sure what I was doing but I installed devkitGP2x then downloaded and installed openwiz but openwiz did not work and I read that it did not on Windows.
As far as I read from Franxis, we can use devkitGP2X to compile for the Wiz...
Better late than never: after analyzing Win2X behavior, I figured out what caused those issues and found the way to fix them. So no need anymore to reflash entirely your Wiz after Win2X uninstall.
Just download this archive:
Instructions: copy the...
I'm in no way a developer but I'm trying to make devkitGP2X work on Windows. I always tweaked some existing stuff (gpe scripts, source code) and I would like to compile them now. I successfully compiled some demo with it but I'm now trying to use openwiz under devkitGP2X but I get...
FYI, chrisvcpp successfully implemented a software shutdown button in his Win2X firmware. When decompiling his Win2X, I cannot find any internal shell command for that action (other shell commands as rm, cp... can be easily found) as it seems to be some compiled code, a kind of hack I guess...
