Do you like Sci-Fi series that ends with religious stuff ?

It's a long time since I've read it, but I do remember enjoying the short stories in "Stories of Your Live and Others" by Ted Chiang.

You make it all sound like a massive conspiracy. It could be simpler than that. People can be simply idiots.

Raspberry Pi OS Accused of 'Phoning Home' To Microsoft

John Lyden seems to be pretty content about it.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Welcome back ED! We've missed you! Looks like there are a few niggles mentioned on the mailing list. Assuming they won't affect production of the first 500 units at least... (one of the issues is audio white noise a couple of users are apparently experiencing in specific circumstances, which...

Do you like Sci-Fi series that ends with religious stuff ?

To me it depends on the story, although I hate stories written with an agenda of being vehicles to promote religion (like Narnia is to Christianism), however, if it feels natural and in-keeping with the universe of the story being portrayed (I personally really enjoyed reading Dune), then I...

No offence intended but I doubt I'll care at that time. Believe I might getting mine at around the same time as you.

    COVID-19 / Coronavirus Pandemic

If you were in a high risk group (which I doubt), then you might be able to call yourself a hero. I wouldn't call you that, but you could. Thanks for the thought though. If you do die, please don't forget to let us know.

    Quick update inbetween

There's assembly in progress, but ED has said that Covid has definitely had an impact on production - it's just going slowly. Nothing to worry about, but I assume it will take many more weeks for remaining units to get produced and shipped. I think there are a couple of minor tweaks being made...

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I'd argue more that it's the reason that open source is so popular; if it doesn't work, fork it (or in the proprietary world, "doesn't work, f--k it")

Tea, Earl Gray, Hot , the big tread about your morning drink

Actually filtered water (tastes better filtered) is what I drink most of the time, and I'm fairly unpredictable what I drink if it's different (can be green tea, earl grey, coffee, black tea, etc). Only exception is I usually like to treat myself to a decaf cappuccino at the end of the week.

Tea, Earl Gray, Hot , the big tread about your morning drink

You have a couple of interesting options there. Assume "Bear" is "Beer" ... I would be too scared to try drinking an actual bear. Is "Met" "methylated spirit"?! 1613730196 You also forgot Coke: coke and pizza used to be the stereotypical fuel for programmers, but guess that might be redbull or...

    SONY PS5 (PlayStation 5)

Sounds like something a (software) recalibration would fix. Slightly off-topic, reminds me of "human drift", I've seen. My mother, bless her soul, would drift towards the TV while playing certain Wii games, and ended up punching the screen. I tried recalibrating by letting her know that...

I don't even know what stick drift is. Pretty sure I haven't encountered it in any of my consoles / handhelds, PS5 included.

I'd love to see any videos. There are approaching 100 people who have one, and only a couple of folks who have been kindly sharing photos / videos so far...

Raspberry Pi OS Accused of 'Phoning Home' To Microsoft

Fair points. I meant more in terms of the telemetry. I think it would have been better to allow VSCode to be installed as an optional extra, at least allow users to make an informed choice on their own than secretly add it.
