    The Communication Cube

I'd agree with that. It seems to me that transportation of fuel is is a national security issue. Certainly in the US which is so heavily dependent on cars. And if it isn't a national security issue per se, it should have security at near national security levels, somewhat akin to the likes of...

Pyra Learning OpenGL ES 2.0 for Pyra

I've put up an (admittedly pretty bit dry) post on the evils of unnecessary dependencies having just gotten rid of GLM : https://kaprikawn.wordpress.com/2021/04/05/learning-to-learn-opengl-es-2-0-part-32-removing-glm-dependency/ The fullscreen problem from before is sorted, it now launches...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

There's a Box86 post on Phoronix : https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Box86-x86-On-Other-Archs Someone go and mention the Pyra in the comments, I can't be bothered :)

    Emulating at a reasonable speed

Higan is a very demanding emulator, it needs powerful hardware to run, there's no chance it will ever run on the Pyra. For Pyra-class hardware, I think Snes9x is the emulator of choice for SNES.

Pyra Learning OpenGL ES 2.0 for Pyra

I seem to recall seeing a post from ED saying there was an SDL2 fullscreen issue, but I can't remember where that is, so I could be wrong. The method I use to get the screen dimensions works on other platforms, but I'll look at SDL_GetDesktopDisplayMode, thanks for the pointer. I don't think...

Pyra Learning OpenGL ES 2.0 for Pyra

After a rather long hiatus, I've done a new blog post. I've deleted most of my code and am now taking a different approach with my code structure. OOP is out, and the coding style of Handmade Hero is in. So I've taken it back to basics with a new release that strips out almost all the other...

Raspberry Pi OS Accused of 'Phoning Home' To Microsoft

I don't know a great deal about this so correct me if I'm wrong. What's with Raspian that your repos aren't just a list of urls that you can comment and uncomment at will? Having config files that create config files that create config files is some Grub-like BS and is the primary reason I got...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

That doesn't sound like a good policy. I have the item, what's to stop me just not paying? I imagine they'll probably come after you and put something on your credit rating. But if you're someone who's credit rating is in the toilet already you might not care, I certainly know people like...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

When I've bought records from the US, they've always come in via Royal Mail, and they send me an email with a link on it to pay customs duty/VAT and a handling fee. You go to their website, pay by card and then they deliver. That's what I was expecting this time, but nothing ever came. I'm...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

It's here, just arrived five minutes ago. The customs/VAT was....£0.00! I didn't pay anything, no emails asking for payment, the delivery driver didn't ask me for anything. I really think that's some sort of clerical error, but I'm not complaining. I got my Pandora for £200, now I've got my...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Still no change from Birmingham 7am Friday morning. If it wasn't for this flipping snow I'd drive there and storm the Fedex building :D

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Nope, no movement today. The last record is still yesterday morning in Birmingham.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Well mine's in Birmingham as of 7am this morning, so at least I know it wasn't a problem getting into the country. Just an hour drive from me, but no doubt there's more processing to do so who knows how long it'll take. Still no email asking for the VAT payment though.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Yeah, 626EUR sounds about right, I didn't pay much attention to be honest, I just wanted to get it paid for. There's a couple of 'In transit' movements against the tracking now at 'ROISSY CHARLES DE GAULLE CEDEX FR' at 6pm and 7:30pm, not sure why there's two. Those aren't GMT times though...

Anyone actively developing games for the Pyra?

Yeah, I'm developing a game, more a demo really. I'm trying to do a couple of levels of a Starfox-style game. It's slow going because I'm learning C++ to do it. And I've just scrapped most of my code because my structure was holding me back. I'm now trying the approach recommended by...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

My Pyra has shipped. The email says it will be delivered before 12:00 today, and it was scanned in a place in France at 5:00 this morning, so that seems doable, but unlikely. I've not had a customs charge email yet. Are parcels even allowed to come into the UK from Europe mainland at the...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

I've just had my email and have ordered my Pyra. But sorry, I don't know what number preorder I had so that won't give much information. But at least you know more emails are going out.

    Pyra Game Dev

I'm using C++ with SDL2. I'm currently following Handmade Hero on Youtube because my current structure is really crappy and holding me back. So I need tips on better structuring my code, which I'm getting from those Youtube videos. Pygame seems good for your purposes. I'm not a big fan of...

    HORIZON ZERO DAWN - PC

It's an incredible game, so much so that I'm considering buying it again to play at 60fps. The price helps, I'm glad they aren't doing it full price. It doesn't do anything different structurally. It is pretty much a standard open-world game in the Ubisoft mold, towers reveal the area, with a...
