The Archos 5 Internet Tablet (i.e. the android version) has a new alternate firmware from Archos for enthusiasts and developers based on Angstrom Linux. This opens the possibility of directly accessing all the OMAP hardware through C or assembler assuming Archos has not done anything stupid...
I am from Canada. I bought my gp2x (and some other stuff) using gamersection.ca but the site doesnt have the wiz for preorder. Which other sites can I preorder from?
I am assuming Wiz should be able to play most video formats once mplayer is up and working but the question is what resolution of videos can be played? I have lots of 640x480 h.264 vids (768kbps, 30fps) and it will be a pain to convert them to some other resolution or codec. I was wondering if...
i am just wondering why "3000" was chosen as the batch size. i can only think of 3000*330= $1m (approx).
Coincidence? Craigix planning on running away with $1m :P?
No offence meant .. just a random question.
edit : Maybe move this to off-topic :( ?
Dunnow if you guys have seen this : http://www.kysoh.com and http://tuxisalive.com
Looks pretty cool. I want one :)
But its out of stock :(
If anyone has one or has seen one, please discuss your experiences.
I was wondering if anyone has played with the clutter GUI toolkit (clutter-project.org).
From their website : Clutter is an open source software library for creating fast, visually rich and animated graphical user interfaces. Clutter uses OpenGL (and optionally OpenGL ES for use on Mobile and...
This poll is only for PC gaming enthusiasts who are going to buy a graphics card. So there is no option to say "not buying". Basically if you are not going to buy anything, I request you to not cast a vote.
If you specify "other", please specify in comments what are u buying.
I was wondering when and if other omap3xxx powered devices may appear.
Beagleboard is of course already kind of available but I will prefer waiting for its Rev C.
There is some speculation of a N900 with Omap3. Hopefully it will be released this year.
Then theres the possibility of a N95/6...
There was a huge discussion on whether apps or GUI should be improved but very little info on the status of the firmware. So I have the following wishlist for the firmware.
1. Kernel should work :)
2. Working OpenGL ES 2.0 drivers.
3. Working Wifi drivers. Connectivity to WPA2 and also...
I am starting a new raytracer (right now for the PC but later for the Pandora).
So why I am writing a raytracer? Because I know nothing about raytracing so want to learn :)
The goal is to optimize it for multicores and SSE on the PC first then once Pandora comes out will see what can be done...
I wonder why ARM does not simply provide manuals without having to go through registration and agreeing to terms and conditions and what not. You can just go to the Intel site and download the x86 instruction set manual. Ditto for Power archiecture. Ditto for Cell's SPE guide. Then why not ARM...
A browser named Origyn Web Browser : http://www.sand-labs.org/owb
This appears to be a webkit based system claimed to be for consumer electronics devices and portable to GTK, SDL etc based GUIs.
Source of news : http://linuxdevices.com/news/NS9883020354.html
Might be interesting to investigate...
This is one weird "laptop"/"netbook" : http://www.elonexone.co.uk/index.html
Does anyone know what is LNX Code 8 Processor?? Never heard of this line of processors.
IS it x86? ARM? Power? Something noone knows about??
I was wondering if its possible to setup an RSS feed for the Pandora Forums only? It will be easier to check than coming back to the site again and again.
Beagleboard runs the same processor and has 128MB RAM like the Pandora.
Here is a demo video of beagleboard running a small 3d demo, running enlightenment desktop and Abiword (on Linux obviously).

This should tell you the power of the processor and...
