apparently mythical cable...


I've seen that first one as well, but it looks like DVI-D...

and though the second one is DVI-I it's female instead of male...I suppose I could then get a DVI-I male-to-male cable("they" do make those, ...right?), but I was hoping to leave out as many interconnects as possible and keep things "simple", although this whole endeavor has gone as far from "simple" as i could ever imagine...
 
So you're aware, I've got a DVI-I(female port) output graphics card, and I'm getting a monitor that has a DisplayPort(female port) input(the monitor does have other inputs, but I already have plans for them). For my purposes, will a DVI-D male to DisplayPort male cable work/fit in a DVI-I female port?
