I was/am a Talk Talk devotee, tbh more of a Mark Hollis 'fan' as he was Talk Talk imho .. not quite sure why, but I can still remember the first time I heard Today  & it literally stopped me in my tracks.. enraptured since, he pretty much retired after his 1998 solo debut & as ashamed as I am must admit to shedding a few tears.. believe it or not I actually received an email from the man himself (& not as a result of a campaign of harassment btw)

I really like "life's what you make it". I never saw the clip though...love the theme and shadow play. still can not join the unique voice with the face...

It's a song about the Pandora... yesterday's favorite. Don't you hate it?

what did the email say??

i just got the Spirit of Talk Talk 2-disc tribute compilation - haven't listened to it yet, tho. almost every single track from _Spirit of Eden_ and every track from _Laughing Stock_ (two albums i would purchase over and over again on new formats) are covered on here (and a few twice), which is kinda crazy.

A Happy Birthday message for a particular milestone (not saying which one) .. glad you enjoyed my music etc & a very happy birthday but worded much better, which you would kinda expect.

My mate's Uncle is a producer who has has worked with Mark a few times, called in a favor.. he didn't tell me anything until after it had arrived.. let's just say it's one of the most treasured things I've ever received.
