Brand X presents, "Buzzy's Bad Day", another solo effort by Linus Sphinx depicting the classic struggle for life and death in the garden of evil in this latest artistic shooter entry in his Return To The Arcade series. This time out you take the role of Buzzy, one big ugly bug with a bad attitude who woke up stuck to the bottom of someone's shoe on the wrong side of the botanical gardens carnivorous floral exhibit and bird aviary. You need to get home to get bizz-ay and ultimately preserve the species in a final climactic ending that could only be described as insect pornography unlocking the gateway to Buzzy's secret garden of love and an infinite number of levels.

NOTE: This game is not rated. Scenes and subject matter depicted may be considered offensive and highly unsuitable for larvae in the pre-pupae stage.

Pretty fun, I kept getting eaten by birds but will practice more after work.

cool game but does buzzy have to be so big? his size combined with the bird that eats you if you stay too high makes this pretty frustrating at times.

with that said I did keep replaying over and over trying to get further

Maybe, was asked at the start, "Does this game make my bug look big?". Thought about maybe doing three sizes for easy hard and !@#% me. I'd just finished Cow Suckers with it's zillion sprites and wanted to do something with very very little drawing so went with meejum. He's not quite as big as he looks, the wings, trunk, legs don't count and his collision zones are much smaller than his graphic. It's also a bit of a puzzle, many ways to travel, some not so obvious, some obvious yet fatal. I like those mean diagonals, like where you fly directly at the first venus fly trap shut it's mouth and then do a up but not too far and over before it recovers or you can try and hug the sky and blast the living crap out of everything knocking them down and hope you have room to bob down before the bird sees you or hugging the ground and blasting upward. I should do a video, I can really work that intro garden.

I'm a big fan of shmups so part of why the big sprite threw me off. if his hitzone is smaller than the graphic I just have to work a bit at finding it as with any shooter.

However, as for my other complaint with the bird taking you off in an instant death I think its still unfair. Should really be some kind of indicator for when you're in danger of being taken away by the bird.

still I do like the game and did notice the puzzle aspect of it. kind of reminds of the the situational puzzle style of the older oddworld games. its a precision game but the controls feel a bit too stiff at times. then again that was true of the oddworld games too.

Thanks for including a Save Garden option! :D I'm currently battling the spider, made it bleed green and made a hole through the net, but have yet to fully avoid getting bitten... Awesome work Sphinxter, definitely one of the most original GP2X games in quite a while!

It is difficult, but not frustratingly difficult :)

I got the idea of using spider web as boss battle while pressure washing my patio furniture after it had been stored all winter in a garden shed.

I unavoidably bore the moniker, "sphinxter boy", for several years after the release of "Wayne's World". When I first logged in Sphinx was already taken. :)
