Hello

My SMC was wiped clean this morning due to the batteries running out while fGB was trying to scan my directory. I tried the recover SMC thing but that couldn't find any errors so I have had to reformat my card and put all my stuff back on it.

Now, this wasn't so bad for me as I had made a backup just a week or so ago and so I shall not loose too much progress on most things. However, for fSMS the save states only have .ST as an extension. I cannot copy my save states back to the SMC as they need to have a 3 character extension to be copied.

Is there any way I could change them to have .STA as an extension, copy them to the SMC, and then remove the 'A' from their file names?

I have hours of Populous, Asterix and Sonic to recover and I am not sure I can face starting all over again!

theres a pclink fix allowing you to transfer files with less than a 3 letter extension. i dont know the link but im sure someone else will post it

you can rename file's on your smc using comi...in the tool's section...
i don't know if it will take letter's off of exetenion's.....
