Hi there i havent used my GP2X for a long time now and fired it up today only to find it wouldnt read the SD card.

Ok, i havent used it in a while so maybe im doing something wrong so i hope u guys can help pointing out that im being an idiot...!

Ive got a GP2X F200 (the white one) and ive tried 5 different SD cards and it gives me the same 'reading' of them. Basically i can open the Game icon then open the ... folder and then it gives me the choice to opne the Game folder, when i open this i get sent back to the ... folder.

Ive tried the same cards on my older GP2X (the black one) and they are read fine.

Am i doing something wrong is the F200 broken?

Cheers for your help :)

Hmm, I remember that some brand new GP2X F200 didn't read SD Cards out of the box, and I'm sure they tested them before.
So something seems to easily break there.

Could be something simple as bad soldering.

thanks
when i connect the GP2X F200 to my computer using a USB I can access to the SD without problems. I can read de SD, erase, and copy files. the problem is only when i try to access the SD with the console.
Is posible a bad soldering? i open the machine and i don´t see any bad soldering. I have two machines GP2X f200 with the same problem.
could be a problem with the firmware? can i reflash the machine without the SD reader. I have a cradle

Regards and thank you very much for your help It´s very difficult to find people with this machine.

That doesn't sound like bad soldering in that case, unless it's something very esoteric. What file system formats does the GP2X support, by the way? Does it support fat32? It may be you need to reformat any cards bigger than 2GB to fat16 before it'll understand them. What size of cards are you trying to use?

thanks again
i try to reformat in fat32, fat16, extfat, i have a GP2x F100 and a WIZ i try with a SD that de F100 and WIZ read without problems and in the F200 is imposible, when i put the SD in the cradle with and usb adapter the F200 read de SD without any problems i be able to execute programs too.
can reflash the console with the cradle?
i try to connect to the console with hyperterminal or putty with serial cable and the characters that appears in the hyperterminal are always wrong i can do notiting. anybody knows a guide to connect the console to pc with hyperterminal or putty?

Thanks in advance

4.1.1 in one F200 and 4.0.0 in other the f200 are labeled with B model
