I deleted the menu entry for "XFCE-About" in /usr/share/applications/

Now I want to add a desktop file for a menu item but have it appear right above "log-out"

I created a desktop file and placed it in /usr/share/applications/. It is simply placed alphabetically above the submenu entries.

How do I get it to appear below the bottom separator line below the "System" menu?

And is there a place I can put it so that it is user specific?

I looked online and tried

~/.config/menus

and also

~/.local/share/applications/

neither seem to work? I have logged out and rebooted also.

HELP?

Copied the file /etc/xdg/op/menu/xfce-applications.menu to ~/.config/menus

and have my desktop file in ~/.local/share/applications

no menu item. I ONLY get the menu item if the desktop file is in /usr/share/applications

And I can not get it moved above the log-out even if I edit xfce-applications.menu and add this desktop to the TopLevel list right above Log-Out.

But it is Still NOT Working.

How do I get a custom placement of icons. The above files in my username directory do not seem to get used like other XFCE versions.
