Hunt The Wumpus

Heheh... uh... did you LOOK at the source code for the C version there? That was actually a version someone submitted to the IOCCC, which is a competition to see who can intentionally make the hardest-to-understand source code possible... and this one actually won an award! So yeah, I don't think that's a great starting place for a source port.

However, also available at the same link is a Z-code version of the game, which you could play through Frotz on the GP2X. Text adventures don't really work too well when you don't have a keyboard, but at least it's possible.

Appears so. Found this on the gp2x.de forum:

Found some time to dig up an old small font I made myself, so can be sure it's distributable... so here's my hunt the wumpus (of 99/4a fame) clone-beta...
Who knows when I'll have time to fix the bugs you all might find, but I think it's at least playable:

http://luteijn.xs4all.nl/wumpus-0.2.6.tar.gz

download, unpack, put the .gpe somewhere on your sd card, along with the .oggs. Launch wumpus.gpe and try to figure out (or remember) the rules Wink

Rules are here, except for the keymappings they ought to be correct... http://www.videogamehouse.net/huntwumpus.txt
