Hey Everyone. I'm doing a project for my Science Class and I need some help on getting Information.
I need to figure out what the performance of ARM CPU's vs x86 CPU's.

Any Links or Experienced Computer Hardware developers insight would be much welcomed.

I don't know loads about this, and my reply probably won't be that helpful, but here goes.

You're basically comparing apples to oranges; even with CPUs of the same architecture there's a lot of variation (e.g. AMD Althons versus Pentium 4s), but in general clock for clock an x86 CPU is more powerful than an ARM one. However, x86 cpus eat lots more power than an ARM, which is why ARM are generally used in handheld, battery powered devices.
Generally, an ARM9 (used in GP2x) will do 1.1 million instructions per second per MHz, but an x86 cpu should do more than this. However, the Arm Cortex A8 also does more than 1.1 MIPS.

I know of a number of links, all of which can be found quite easily using
