Me and a guy might import Gp32 Blu's to sell them here in Sweden along with SMCs.
Don't really know if it's a good idea cause the DS soon will be released but we think there is a growing demand of Gp32 units anyway. The gp32 is more great than the DS och PSP will ever be! ;>

Questions: Is it possible to import Gp32:s without paying any expencive importaxes? Were from? Liksang got 6% of if you buy 10 Gp32s or more (!)

Would be nice to spread the gp32's all over Sweden and hopefully the community will grow even larger ;) ! Got some ideas and hopefully some of them will come true!

Thanks in advance!

* Hope u can stand my sort of crappy eng ;)

I got mine from Lik-Sang, worked flawlessly. However, you should go for the cheapest shipping possible, because UPS wILL declare the correct value of your parcel to the customs, whereas Lik-Sang sends parcels worth 40$ ;)

Eep! That GP32 is perilously close to the water...

If you want to order bulk have you thought about contacing Gamepark themselves?

Yup, But I'm just gonna start with a small stock first to see if the demand of Gp32 is as big as I think (if my thoughts will come to reality). Don't think Gamepark will ship me just a few Gp32:s :> (?)

My ideas are only in the "beta stage" ;)

Do you think Gp32's would sell good even though DS is arriving soon? Give me some tips and ideas if possible :D Would be nice with a Gp32 community here in Sweden!

Thanks

Edit: Haha, the gp32 were close to the water many times during that hot day shown in the picture. A boat went by and the big waves were just about to get my gp32 flu ;>

Well the DS/PSP will be great for commercial games no doubt.

However For emus/homebrew the GP32 will still be great to have. They really are two different markets. The GP32 will always be weak for commercial. The others strong for commercial, weak/non-existing for homebrew/emus. The DS still has smaller lower res screen (s) and it is still unknown if the DS (not GBA) section will be useable for homebrew, as Nintendo may require encrypted code for that. If the DS side is can be used for emus it will be a closer race. While the CPU is still slower (67 Mhz) is has custom hardware to make up for some of the CPUs pokeyness, not sure how much it will help for emus though.

Also you will have to buy those custom made flash carts for the DS/GBA which are bulky and expensive.

The GP32 still is easy to get cards, batteries etc for and at a cheap price. That will make it attractive for awhile yet I think.

Also remember that Lik-Sang gives a discount for bulk (10 or more)

What, has this board turned into a Swedish language board or something? ;)

fuck you (diversity!

fuck you? That is nice.

Do you know what this board would be like if everyone that posted did so in their native tongue? It would be a total mess and you wouldn't be able to read most of what was posted.

Even with the DS retailing at an unbelievably low price ($150 in the US) I think there's a market for the GP32. Obviously we're not talking Gameboy sales here but I don't see any reason why the GP32 wouldn't sell relatively well in any country considering its very attractive unique selling points (open source, emulators, mp3s, movies etc).

Your only problem would be if a direct competitor to the GP32 (open source handheld) were released with better specs at similar price point. The Zodiac poses some competition but the high price really puts it out of reach of many potential customers like myself.

But I don't think you'll have to worry about that until the GP32-2 comes out ;)

Anyway, best of luck, I really hope this thing goes ahead.

Thank you all for your answers! :)

Might import some Gp32's to sell later on.. to test the market! But this is just ideas so far. Since I'm gonna to do the military service soon here in Sweden I've not got the time to some sort of big project (or the money) :/

Seems to be a difficult market.. and even though if I'm not going to import and sell any gp32:s here in Sweden I'll help ppl that I know to "join" the gp32 community ;D Really like the community and thinks that Gp32 is a great alterntive to all other upcomming handhelds!

Yuglooc: thanks, but I'm not new here ;) yeah, Gbax is great. Helped a friend of mine to order from them and It went smootly and without any problems!

Might just refer conceivable "I'm-gotta-get-Gp32"-people to Craig ;o

- Thanks

I heard the GP32II has been delayed. They plan on releasing the current one to the rest of Europe in 2005.
