I remember talking about GOG mixes a while ago, but I didn't know any were actually started. It would definitely be handy to have an up to date reference. Here are a couple of previous threads:

Post #11 in the second link is a good starting point, but as you say it's pretty old info.

Some cool news from GOG today too. Team 17 has joined the fold:

Thanks Gruso!

One of those links I checked out in my search, the other I had not and it had some gems on there. Yay!! I would love it if there were an update mix out there of everything compatible, or if the guys at GOG were Pandora fans and could do some sort of special pricing on buying the whole bundle!

Did some more digging. We have a kind of index thread for recommended games on all systems: http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php?/topic/105-the-system-specific-game-recommendation-thread-list

It has a link to an MS-DOS thread, but we could probably use a GOG thread too. Maybe this thread could serve the purpose for now. Here's the list from the thread I linked earlier:

Baldur's gate 1 + 2 should run with GemRB, although I doubt it is 100% and definitely beta.

Duke Nukem 3d (using engine)

http://apps.open-pan.../eduke32SDL.inf

Rise of the triad (using engine)

http://apps.open-pan...?/Game/rott.inf

Descent (using engine)

http://apps.open-pan...d1x-rebirth.inf

Heroes of Might and Magic II using Free Heroes 2

http://apps.open-pan...me/FHeroes2.inf

Using ScummVM (check the website for a full list: http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/) a good load of adventure game:

Broken Sword 1

Broken Sword 2

Beneath a steel sky (free)

King's Quest I + II + III

Police Quest I + II + III

The Feeble Files

Simon the Sorcerer 1

Simon the Sorcerer 2

Space Quest I: The Sarien Encounter

Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge

Space Quest III

Space Quest IV

Space Quest V

and I might be missing some

So, we need a GOG mix. Here's the one I started ages ago as an example: http://www.gog.com/en/mix/pandora_picks ...I guess I should get that up to date.

And by chance I just came across a ScummVM compatible mix by our very own Lafazar: http://www.gog.com/en/mix/games_compatible_with_scummvm

So, let's get some input on what other GOG games people are running. I'll update the thread title and OP to get things rolling. :)

Those lists seem to include some games that are not yet supported by ScummVM, but are being worked on and will probably be supported in the future (Gabriel Knight games, Myst games, The Last express, possibly others). Some of those might work with DOSBox though.

The Pandora version of ScummVM seems also to be based on an old version of ScummVM, so games added since then should not work.

Here's a list of games compatible with ScummVM 1.2.1, which I think is the version the Pandora port is based on.

Good point. I've tried to litter everything with disclaimers so people do some research first and don't waste their money on a non-working game. Lafazar's ScummVM list points out specific incompatibilities; maybe I should replicate some of that in my list.

[edit] I've removed games from my GOG list that don't appear in the 1.21 compatibility list. Thanks for the input. :)

funk GOG and all its content because they favour windows-only systems. funkers..

i mean , the installers for games are windows-only which sucks hard. Im looking for GOG from HaikuOS user position which dont even have WINE to unpack GOG content..

The same situation is on pandora = no wine.

I can see your point. x86 Linux & OSX are reasonably well covered these days, but the more obscure you go, the more you need a janky old XP box on the side to do a bit of donkey work now and then. :D

Whoa, thanks Gruso!! There are several titles here I didn't realize were playable! Time to start purchasing some games for the inevitable return of my Pandora!

I see you already found my GOGmix of ScummVM-compatible games. Please note that I also included games in this list that are still work in progress and will (probably) eventually work in ScummVM, but not right now (but I always stated that information clearly in the list itself, at least I hope I did). In Addition to that some games will not run since we only have ScummVM 1.2.1 on Pandora, but from the games on GOG I think only Lands of Lore, Personal Nightmare and Waxworks are not playable via ScummVM on Pandora.

Here's my GOGmix of games using DOSBox:

http://www.gog.com/e...es_using_dosbox

All of those will probably run on Pandora, but of course only those with low system requirements will run well, so another subset of these could be added to the Pandora GOGmix.

I think I can exclude the following games that IMHO almost certainly don't run well:

-Blood

-Crusader: No Remorse/No Regret

-Dungeon Keeper

-Gabriel Knight 2 was reported on these Boards to be too slow

-The Last Express

-Magic Carpet

-Normality

-Phantasmagoria 1&2

-Pro Pinball: Timeshock

-Realms of the Haunting

-Redneck Rampage

-Screamer

-Seven Kingdoms

-Shattered Steel

-Stonekeep was reported on these Boards to be too slow once enemies appear

-Settlers II

-Sim City 2000

-Slipstream 5000

-Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon

-Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive

-Time Commando

-Wing Commander III

-Zork Nemesis

The rest might be playable or even run well.
