Should we have an IRC Java Applet on this board to connect to #gp32? That way for people at work or at terminals where they cannot install problems, they can still chat away on the main GP32 IRC channel.

If you know of where such an applet exists, I'd also be happy to know that ;)

I used to know quite a few; they were good for bypassing my School's non-install policy (interestingly they never had anything about chat in there... which I argued a LOT during my first little while of using the thing). Unfortunately, I've not used the things for aaaages.
The only (open) Java IRC chat I can remember is the one found at the "Living With A Colostomy" site which doesn't have either server or chatroom restrictions.

how big is a java irc client?
how much do the cgi irc version sue without images.
i bet you have to use the cgi version longer time to make the traffic the java one do for loading

Only thing about this is that you get lots of tuime waster that can easily go into a channel using java applets, but the people who really want to use IRC more 'properly' will download mIRC or something....
