Being a fan of e-ink technology (and e-book readers), I was amazed when I saw Wipeout running so well on an e-ink screen! Ok its not full speed but its better then expected. I hope the refresh rates will be improved in future generations of e-ink screens.

iv seen it on hackaday, awesome hack

but i think is simple becouse some ebook readere use a modified version of android

Seen this kind of things with Angry birds about 6 months back - it's just Android running apps, on a hack. It works well but e-ink screens are still slow compared to normal LCD screens. BUt there are better alternatives coming down the road (to e-ink).

true, but its more about demonstrating the possibilitiess of e-ink displays, rather then being an alternative for retro gaming. Just to mention it, this "tablet" uses an OMAP3621 and even has wifi b/g/n for 104€ on ebay http://www.ebay.de/i...=item3f18b51f5d

four year ago I bought... I belive the first magazine which had a display. The e-ink screen kept "blinking" for almost two years before the custom batteries died! Due to the changing background colour (black and white), the small coloured pictures (which were printed on an extra layer) looked like they were being lit up by a backlight. Simple but brillant - so much fun to watch ; )
