I remember reading something about it in one of the plenty Pandora resources but I just can't find it anymore. Would someone pls be so kind and answer these questions?:

How do I remove old and obsolete entries of previously mounted devices in /media/ ?
How come my SD card shows up twice on the desktop? How can I fix this?

thx!

1) sudo rm /media/<superfluousmountpoint>
2) no idea, that's never happened to me.

ok, you can just use rm for that case, thx! an -r option was missing though, those seem to be folder.

still wondering why one of my two sd cards shows up twice on the desktop. Only one of those links actually works, the other sais:

'Unable to mount "SD16": mound /dev/mmcblk0 already mounted or /media/SD16_ busy'

The sd cards actual name is SD16, without the underscore.

Oops, sorry.
Be very very careful. Make sure you're deleting the right folder, or even better simply remove the card. If you rm -rf a mounted card it will wipe that card clean.
