Just to report the headphone socket in my (3 year old, black) GP2X came clean off the PCB and started rattling around inside the unit. I unscrewed the back a little and it dropped out. I've never used headphones with it so it made me sad ;__;

GPH don't seem to be very good at soldering the headphone jack on, I've no idea why. The fact you've never used it indicates that it didn't come under stress.

yes, this is/was a common problem, especially with the earlier units. I sent my first edition back after mine snapped off (plus some other faults) and was too afraid to use the headphone port on my replacement... tried it a few weeks ago and sure enough it snapped straight off :rolleyes:

quick bit of soldering and much stronger than before. You can even superglue it in place first for added strength.

Just be careful, the port is quite small, some headphones are just too big to fit.
