Following the release of the demo disk that came with famitsu, the browser and launcher have now been seperately released as a stand alone app.

i'm now browsing the net from my PSP!

the browser seems pretty good, pVp looked especially awesome on the PSP.

give it a look guys, its about 2.5mb unpackaged.

It doesn't work on my 1.0, but I have got a 1.5 here and it works perfect (with encryption and all).

Some of the bigger sites slow it down badly, like Skysports, but overall, it's good.

Wish there was a back button though.

For thiose who want to return to your portal page, it's: Triangle, then Circle. (first option in menu).

I think I might upgrade to 1.5 now.

a back button would make this perfect.

this is my current index.html file. anyone got any other good links?

Is this an official Sony download, or an official UMD Disc from Sony?

If it's a download, and official, can you post a link?

Edit:

Actually I found out the browser is going to be released in the next firmware update next week:

Look Here

The update is available from July 27th

i don't have time to go searching for a pirated game for just the web browser, i think i'll wait for the official one.

But you 'have' time to post that you don't have time to search for a 1.85mb zip file that is readily available on most sites?

(and it's not the full game, it's a ripped browser).

The official browser alone wont make me give up homebrew, but I certainly want a browser...and at the moment, this does a nice job of it.

its surprisingly easy to type stuff out, one thing i really like is that the text input menu doesn't wrap round, when you hit right you don't end up back on the left hand side if you press it enough times, it justs stays on the right.

if i stick with it i'm sure it will become second nature ala texting on a phone

speaking of which, along with the keyboards that will no doubt appear, i'd like to see something that made use of sms style typing.

either a small number pad could be released or perhaps using the DPad & home plus the buttons & start you could implement the full number pad and then tweak the key definitions to allow for very fast predictive text input.

There is a ripped/hacked version of the browser that is available if you do a search. This then give`s you the option of setting your own homepage and accessing any website you choose.

It probally is if you do the DNS trick like with wipeout whereby you redirect requests to the legitimate site to your own "portal" with links out onto the interweb...

have you read any of the previous posts?

by editing the index.html file that comes with the browser you can launch to any site. at present you cannot directly type in urls but when you can have google as a bookmark you don't really need to worry.
