Hi there!

for a long time www.happypenguin.org was a great source for getting new linux - and so also pandora - games.

But for about a year it seems to be dead and now it is.

I don't know any other source which was so good like this page. So I'm very sad about it. But a group of people want to rescue this project. They are in planing state to buld a new site with the old game data and the old domain name.

Openpandora is a site with both, good technicians and people who love to gamble. So perhaps some of you is interested in and able to supporting the new linux game tone. I'd like too, but I have really no spare time at the moment so I am only in spectator mode for now.

Here's the link to the original site:

And here to the Rescurecction Site:

And to the copy of the "we are dead" announce:

I'd be glad to the a new shining happy oenguin again in some month ;-)

greetings,

SirTobi

Would be nice to see them re-appear, I liked the short descriptions and ability to comment. Nice discussions on the development forum, will be interesting to see what they can do. It might even become a better site than before.

Can't help out much codewise, but I could provide them a reliable server.

Don't know if that's needed though.

Quite a few coders already. Based on this thread I am pretty confident they will return. This comment was added regarding hosting the site, so I don't think they need/want a server:

"I have a solid hosting environment through Dreamhost, so while I appreciate the offers of hosting, I also would like to point out that there are several "professional" hosting solutions offered, and that's what I'd like to go with. Not that hosting our own would be a horrible idea, but I think what we all want is stability for the project, so we can focus on coding. Spending half of our time getting the hosting online and keeping it stable may be fun, but would be detrimental to the project as a whole."
