Hey all, just getting back into the whole GP2X thing. I have an F100 mk2, and I really like it, but the joystick problems are just killing me -- bottom-left diagonal intermittently doesn't get responsive (this is really the reason why I put down my GP2X down and forgetting about it for awhile).

After some research, I see that this is a common problem. I'm willing to invest my time, effort, and money to fix the problem.

I see some people have done mods, like here:

And some have gone further to create a little kit:

I'm thinking something like that "kit" solution is the latest and the "best" available method for making my GP2X have a reliable 4-way d-pad. If so, is this kit still available these days? If not, any other known methods that are up-to-date?

Basically, I just wanna know the most easiest & reliable method out there, but couldn't find any recent info...

Last I checked any organised solution was discontinued albeit some seemed very successful. radek's was a bit pretentious perhaps but seemed awesome and davec's would've been awesome to install :/

I've been considering copying that DMG (original gameboy) mod to which I can't seem to find the url.

Anyways the modder was working on fitting the gp2x screen in vertical in an expanded DMG bezel and doing the extra fitting for pcb and drilling for buttons.

I'm probably going to do the same thing. Buying a pan I'll risk not touching the 2x anymore but as the pan unlike the 2x isn't feasible to play in vertical I may just aswell mod my 2x to a permanent tate game handheld :) it'll even expand on it's pros if you could use the DMG's 4 battery slots to double battery life.

I wonder if one could even replace the GB cart slot hardware for a pc cart linker pcb to even make use of the GB slot one fine day x)
