also what do i use to actually code in? just a text editor? can anyone recommend one?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if you're still trying this, this was 4 months ago after all.. :p

But I've had access to Mac OS X during the weekend (first time EVER, yay! :))
Anyway, I downloaded the OLD fenix binary 0.82 from http://fenix.divsite.net/ .. I couldn't find a newer one.
Noticed the file was in a .sitx extension that I never heard of.. After some research, it's to be opened by a commercial compression software called StuffIt.X.Archive.Expand, which has a free version from here: http://www.stuffit.com/ (You need to enter your email, and they will provide you with links)

Download and install it, then just doubleclick the fenix.sitx you downloaded to unpack a .dmg file instead, doubleclick that to start the fenix install..

You should figure out the rest, Fenix should be located in /Applications/Fenix afterwards.
It's an old version, I haven't seen 0.92a for Mac OS X.

Any text editor should do fine, then start Fenix Helper and select your file.prg and compile then run the .dcb to test your game.
Did some tests and it works, but to have a more recent version would be better. :p
