Does anyone understand the codec for Windows Media Player? Every time, or, almost every time I try to play a video that I downloaded from the internet or overnet, this happens...... The file is open in Windows Media Player; then, at the bottom, above the playback controls, it says "sending request for codec" (which I'm assuming has something to do with my best frien encoding); finally, it says "error downloading codec" and is only able to play the audio and not the video. Does anybody know what my problem is.

Ive got that same problem except only with some movies. Try downloading and installing divx codecs and xvid codecs. They dont come with WMP so you gotta get them elsewhere. THey are all over the web so just do a search.
