First of all: I'm running the official rootfs (although modified by now), booted from sdcard1. In the second slot i have another sd-card with the installed PNDs and my personal data. Also i disabled the splash-screen to see boot-messages. Now for the first problem i solved
For a long time i had sdcard--filesystem issues with my card in the seconds slot. After some research i found out the filesystem got inconsistend because the device was not correctly unmounted when rebooting the pandora. This again was caused by some bad scripting in /usr/pandora/scripts/pnd_run.sh as sometimes the command "losetup" is called where it would be cleaner to write "/sbin/losetup" (I think there are two places where /sbin/ is missing). So every time i ran a pnd, the loop-devices where not cleanly unmounted and still pointed at /dev/mmcblk1p1. And because of this umounting card2 failed. I'm not sure if this issue is one on an unmodified rootfs (booting from nand), but since it can be fixed quite easily, i probably should be changed with the next hotfix.
The next issue i had is more specific to my setup and maybe can not be solved the way i did as the rootfs is mostly for nand-users. I still want to mention it here:
While booting i had annoying messages about something like my sdcard-partitions not having correct fat32-format (i do not recall the exact phrase). Even e.g. /dev/mmcblk0 (without "p1" at the end) was mentioned. After some research i solved this by adding /dev/mmcblk0 and /dev/mmcblk1 to /etc/udev/mount.blacklist. So udev didn't automatically mount both cards on boot. This especially was an issue for me, because since i boot from sdcard, my root-filesystem was mounted twice: as / and as /media/root - which is no critical issue, but at least quite unclean. With the blacklist-entry this is gone and the icons for the sdcards still appear on the xfce-desktop - though the devices being not mounted. This might be a problem to some users as they might find it uncomfortable to manually mount the cards after booting, but on the other hand this prevents the filesystem from possibly being corrupted because of sliding off with your finger while insterting the card before it completely snaps in. Happens sometimes to me - call me clumsy. ;) Maybe there is even a way to automatically mount the cards within the system without using udev. As already said: I am unsure which is the best configuration for the average user here. I just wanted to point this out. For me this solved several issues and seems to decrease booting time notable.
Oh and last but not least (off-topic): It's nice that there is a hotfix version-number on the splash-screen, but it would be nice to also see it on tty when you disabled the splash. And maybe some obvious place within the filesystem.

The images have always had '/etc/op-version' that is generated during the build process; I would STRONGLY suggest that this file is tweaked with an extra line to show the hotfix variant on the last line.
Something like 'Hotfix: 32 alpha 19' etc. ;).
That would have to be done by the HF installer (and maybe tweaked in the bottom of the base pandora-xfce-image.bb).
If people have any thoughts on the best way to use this file (or anything it may be missing) shout out.

So just adding /sbin/ solved your problems? sebt3 is maintaining this script (or at least was), CCing him just in case.

I'm not sure how this would affect partition-less cards, I think fake partition is created but maybe not always? If so some cards will no longer mount for some users..

I had an IRC chat about this issue. It should be fixed since friday. I forgot to commit this change, doing it right now. (BTW, I'm member of this list ;) )
