Castaway/GP 007 Released!

I cant find version 007 on your site, only version 006

If you're using IE6, try pressing ctrl-f5 - this refreshes the page from the original server rather than your ISP's proxy cache....

This may give you the latest version of the page...

Go get it. No more palette flicker... if you want to pay for it with batteries.
Wow...Rainbow Islands can now be played without triggering migraines and even Blood Money plays better (the coins and bullets are still corrupted tho).

Great stuff thx.

What speed is the GP32 running when you switch Accurate Rendering ON?

Hi, I did notice a bug in the mouse control: Sometimes the mouse seems to be blocked by an invisible barrier.
I have been able to repeat this bug in Rock'n Roll...
Any idea why ?
By the way, most of the games I tried before that didn't work correctly or were too slow are now working perfectly (or almost). Great work !
Thanks,

Loic

Same speed; it always runs at 132MHz. In accurate render mode, it just renders a little slower sometimes, to get the better colour management.

Have you considered overclocking the CPU upto 166Mhz the way GPEngine can?

No way :)

1) Castawya/GP runs pretty darned good already :)

2) Running at 166 (anything higher than about 150MHz) can *damage* your LCD. Permanently!

Errmm... are you sure the accurate renderer is slower...?
I have the feeling it is much faster :)

Yeeha, taking all the good games along with me whereever I go.... THAAAAAAANKS skeezix :)
You did a really really fantastic (and fast) job :)

The community will build a shrine for you ;)

I agree, I have noticed no speed hit with the accurate renderer. If anything, the games ran better & faster.
Would you consider making it the default renderer ? I find myself switching to accurate renderer all the time...

At last! Frontier works without graphically messing itself up in the extreme!

Rejoice!

(Ok, so we're still left with a relatively bad framerate, but that's unavoidable; happened on the real ST :( )

The mere fact that it's working is great from my POV...
BTW: for it, the rendering is slowed down somewhat compared to the glitchy way it used to do it - BUT this is one of the places where the new method would be needed anyway...

So possibly the new method speeds up stuff done the normal way and effectively only has a negative effect when its needed... which is nice :)

The new rendering mode fixes the massive slowdown problems when unpacking games. I think this mode should be the default it future releases since it makes things so much easier.

I've also noticed that the emulator can't play samples very well. If you want examples try POV disk 1 and Llamatron. If this could be fixed I'd have no more issues that needed a look. I can't see demo compatibility getting any better (Since even Steem has trouble in this department) so I'm not going to worry about it :)

Apart from that. Really nice job Jeff. The best emulator currently for the GP32. :)

Just tried Elite 2, had to, OMG its so good, still completely unplayable but its so much better and looks fantastic.

Jeff.... this is amazing..... youve actually convinced a couple of guys at my work to get one, showed them Jimmy Whites, they played a game against each other and right away asked where to buy em :D

Someone buy that guy a pint!!!
