hi, i was just wonderin what the best service provider was for broadband in UK, i've been using aol for a while and i hate it

NTL are pants, but cheapest.

I use zen adsl and they haven't failed me yet, highly recommended

check out www.adslguide.org.uk for loads of info

Pipex, been with them for several years, been really good very competitive good customer support and no sign up fee.

AOL are just plain, just shopws you if a company has gotta a lot of money behind them and heavily market it they get so many people to buy an utterly shite product

AOL software is too intrusive. It's almost impossible to completely remove aswell.

I'm with BT Openworld broadband, it's pretty decent.

Blueyonder! I'm on 512/128 and I regularly exceed those limits and have never had any problems. Comes with (20 or 50, can't remember)mb mail, webpage, their own game servers ('til recently), own newsgroups incl. binaries, full support site, all sorts of other chicanery. They're cable though. It's close to NTL but obviously not ran by the same guys; the services are worlds apart.

A lot of folks I know on BT and other ISPs have been getting C&D letters...

Watch out for download limits when purchasing. A lot of companes offer broadband at the same price as dial up but you may only be limited to 1 or 2 gig a month .

im with BT broadband, its ok but recently i was downloading about 2gb of DBZ episodes. they dissconnected me for a while but then it came back on.

Whats a C&D letter?
