Hi

I'm trying to setup my PC to encode Divx in 4.12 for use on GP32 but also want Divx 5 installed for encoding/viewing on PC but it seems they can't both be installed at once. ;)

Has anyone got a workaround for having Divx 5 installed yet still have the option to encode in 4.12?

Thanks for any help. :)

I haven't figured this out either and it's damnned annoying.... hopefully somebody has a solution, but you're not alone! :)

I'll let you know if I find the solution :)

At the moment I'll stick with 4.12 until I have a load of stuff in GP32 format.

Well it shouldn't cause any problem with those two codecs existing in one system but if it do, try my way. Actually i dont use dedicated full of spyware crap divx codecs. Instead of that use ffdshow codecs package to play all divx content (including ver. 5.0). They should not cause any conflict with divx 4.12 (this one is required to encode divx movies) and actually are not not causing because i have it already instaled and its working.

Easiest wat to have all divx versions installed on your computer is to:

install divx 5 first,

then install 3,

then install 4 but don't let it offer to play the divx 3 files for you.

Doing it this way will get windows media player able to play all divx files and encoding should also be no problem.
