Hi,

ive been looking about and while there are text readers and interactive graphic novels etc. i havent found anyway of reading comics on the gp32 ( feel free to correct me if im wrong). So what i was thinking was that you could scan in a comic (high dpi) resize it to gp32 screen size (viewing long ways) and using the L and R buttons flip between the pages. Meaning each comic eould be in its own fxe.

I dont know if this would work or not, but let me know if you think its worth it.

I'm not saying that I think it would be the best way to view a comic, but if you were going to scan one in and resize it to a 320x240 JPG, then you could use my JpegView program to view the files. It will also let you do the L/R to switch pictures.

So, feel free to try it out, but I suspect that you'll have problems reading a comic that's been downsized that small. Test out some of the image viewer applications and perhaps you'll find one that's most suitable for viewing your pictures. I would assume that, for comics, you would want a viewer that could scroll around a picture.

I think you'll find, though, that none if the options are going to be better than bringing the actual comic book with you and reading it.

yeah i know what you mean, i came up with the idea while i was trying to get a game im making for gp32 to work properly. I might see how it goes its a long shot but the worst that can happen is that it'll fail :D

I'll put one together and see what it looks like.

My hope was always for a image viewer better suited to being a dedicated comicbook style reader that would allow me to scale in and out of the pagews smoothly (mode7 style) so you could move through the comic more smoothly.

There are like 3 or 4 image viewers you can use for the GP32 but all of them kinda have draw backs.

But the GArfield thingy can not be used for anything else, only for the Garfield comics incorporated into it.

I use the GP File Manager to read comics. Works best of all viewers I have seen or the GP32.
