Thought you might be interested in checking out Zodiac Gamer if you hadn't seen this - yoyo's added NGPC & WS emulation to SNES, Genesis, NES, GB & GBC!

Quite incredible - looks like he might already have almost the entire emu market cornered for the Z. Maybe he'll be able to weave a few things into opensnes 0.5 ;)

It looks like he has found his new favorite system. I wouldn't count on anything for the GP32 from him. You would be lucky to even get Opensnes .5 anymore. He didn't do that many emus on the GP32 BEFORE he got the Zodiac. I am not sure what he will emulate next for the Zodiac, knowing him he will be emulating Xbox next week.

Heh, could you imagine what would happen if Yoyo entered all his emulators seperately in the next GBAX compo?

"1st place: OpenSNES9xGP by YoyoFr & Team
2nd place: Little John GP by YoyoFr
3rd place: OpenGenesisGP by YoyoFr
4th place: OpenNGPCGP by YoyoFr
5th place: OpenGBCGP by YoyoFr
6th place: OpenWSCGP by YoyoFr"

...and so on...

(Yes, I know he's porting rlyeh and others' emulators into LJZ, not just coding it all up from scratch. But still...)

Didnt he get alot of donations from the zodiac community to do those though?
Craig gave him a Zodiac as a prize in the Compo, the rest is history...

yoyo WAS given donations from the Z community. hes such an amazing coder. i say we start giving him donations to work on the gp32 emulators that have been neglected ASAP. i totally understand him making the zodiac his priority because theyve given him money, and i dont think hes the slightest bit a sell out. i say, we outbid them and get him back to the gp32 full time :p is anyone else interested in sending him donations?

hey can u give me an example of a game that needs a dpad instead of an analog stick?
Any emulator or game that was originally played on a D-pad, Snes, Genesis, etc.
IMHO the analog stick isn't as responsive and has too much play in it for these types of games. I'm looking forward to the Nintendo DS myself, with a flashlink and cart you could play all the emus made for GBA so far, and there's bound to be a flashcart for the DS with new emus eventually.

I've already donated to Rlyeh; he made a nearly perfect GBC emu, and is working on perfecting fGen. If YoYo has 'jumped ship' to the Zodiac, I don't see how a few donations will sway him back to the GP32.

These folks do this stuff in their spare time (I'm assuming) and since he really likes to code for the Zodiac, that's where he's spending most of his free time. Has he made OpenSnes' source available? Someone could pick up where he left off if so....

I'm one of the "working poor", so I can't arbitrarily dish out $10 all the time, hoping to 'bribe' someone to improve an emulator that, for all the games I'm playing ATM, work fine (with sound, albeit crackly).

The DS is GBA compatable so you could probably use the same cartridges unless there's a chip to stop them.

Also wasnt it already said he wasnt turning his back on the GP? The Z has a similar processor, he'd just need to make some alterations to the code and then drop a huge bomb of coolness on us in one fell swoop.

I for one will wait for it to happen when he's ready.

FOR FUCKS SAKE people have a mighty big problem on this forum. HOW MANY TIMES has yoyo said hes still working for the gp32  <_< notw the rumours start again hes abandoned us bla bla fuckin bla bla. You know one day he may get sick of reapeating himself and will leave the GP32 scene. I wouldn't be suprised <_< . If this gets me flamed I don't Give a shit.

You can make a point without foul language, you know. Somebody should hit you with a ban-stick.

kotd, I was about to respond the same ... only less pissed off

I remeber a recent news thing about him still working on OpenSnes 3 ...

"Soon" comes to mind ... though my memory is shot ... many years, many chemicals ...

What were we talking about again?
