What were we talking about again?
Yep these zodiac posts just piss me off.........................and theres been a lot worse bad language here and no some people don't understand any other way.

If the mods wanna ban me than fine.
Well, maybe not ban you, but you should at least get a warning, but just my opinion. I don't enjoy seeing that kind of language, it helps to deteriorate the community.

yoyo WAS given donations from the Z community. hes such an amazing coder. i say we start giving him donations to work on the gp32 emulators that have been neglected ASAP. i totally understand him making the zodiac his priority because theyve given him money, and i dont think hes the slightest bit a sell out. i say, we outbid them and get him back to the gp32 full time :p is anyone else interested in sending him donations?
Donating won't do anything to get him back. He likes the Zodiac better and he preferes coding for it nothing will change that at this point. Bribery won't work (Unless you want to give him like $10,000) but if you want to donate for what he has done in the past I'm sure he wont mind.

hey can u give me an example of a game that needs a dpad instead of an analog stick?
Any emulator or game that was originally played on a D-pad, Snes, Genesis, etc.
IMHO the analog stick isn't as responsive and has too much play in it for these types of games. I'm looking forward to the Nintendo DS myself, with a flashlink and cart you could play all the emus made for GBA so far, and there's bound to be a flashcart for the DS with new emus eventually.
The DS screen resolution is too low to accurately do Genesis or SNES though as those run at 320 x 200.

FOR FUCKS SAKE people have a mighty big problem on this forum. HOW MANY TIMES has yoyo said hes still working for the gp32  <_< notw the rumours start again hes abandoned us bla bla fuckin bla bla. You know one day he may get sick of reapeating himself and will leave the GP32 scene. I wouldn't be suprised <_< . If this gets me flamed I don't Give a shit.
Still I wouldn't expect anything for the GP32 from him anymore, or at least for a VERY long time. He has his hands full with all of those emu modules on th Zodiac. De-bugging and optimising will have him tied up for quite awhile I would imagine.

Final post from me on this thread ;) opensnes 0.5 will come out soon thats all I'll bother saying
Cheers

basically the fact that he's said he hasnt left needs to be reiterated constantly or pinned so people will stop asking. Otherwise some coder should just ask him for the code and be the official GP32 helper so that people can stop getting so uptight about it.

Still even if .5 does come out it is only *one* update. Compare that to all of the emus he is doing for the Zodiac.

Opensnes 0.5 will benefit from yoyo's Zodiac work - I understand the ASM core will be more optimised and more stable. So it will be worth the wait :D

I have to break my promise here. The Heroic autobot has hit the nail on the head and thats why I posted my angry reply in the first place. I was nice in letting people know 3 times before so.....

@ DaveC yeah its only one update but it will have the ASM core in it so if its full speed I'll be happy enough :) That'll be quite an update :)

Ok, and who is this "mystery coder" going to be that will finish these emus? I think Yoyofr will be very hard to replace :(

Thought you might be interested in checking out Zodiac Gamer if you hadn't seen this - yoyo's added NGPC & WS emulation to SNES, Genesis, NES, GB & GBC!

Quite incredible - looks like he might already have almost the entire emu market cornered for the Z. Maybe he'll be able to weave a few things into opensnes 0.5  ;)
It looks like he has found his new favorite system. I wouldn't count on anything for the GP32 from him. You would be lucky to even get Opensnes .5 anymore. He didn't do that many emus on the GP32 BEFORE he got the Zodiac. I am not sure what he will emulate next for the Zodiac, knowing him he will be emulating Xbox next week.
oh c'mon just cut that stuff out, he's sent dozens of mails to make sure no one thought he was leaving, and yet everytime the rumour starts. if we continue like that, he WILL be gone!

and actually, I saw him in #gp32dev for a while yesterday...

I'm glad I could make a liar of the "evil decepticon" if only a little as it were.

anyway Obviously Yoyo is a power coder ot atleast a prolific one, but we still have a lot of good coders, if one of the more talented where granted a peek at the code they could tell it where something they could continue working on.

I'd make an attempt myself if I could but alas I'm a nitwit, but I'd hope someone a bit smarter might try.

But I'll say it again maybe the post where he says he hasnt given up should be made a sticky thread so people will stop asking.

Might not be a bad idea - but equally, it should be renamed so its obvious that's the point of it (or at least the description bit should be...)

True, but PC Engine and Snes and NES are running on the GBA now, and it has even lower resolution, although I've never seen it myself.

I have a GBA with a FlashCart. They look terrible!! PocketNES is cool, but they have to remove every fourth horizontal line to get the screen to 'fit' ... this was the main kick in the ass prompting my purchase of the gp32_console

Thanks for that bit of info, I didn't know that. I knew there were emus but never thought about the screen resolution. The DS has a better resolution right? I need to go dig it up, can't remember what it was.
BTW, how does the PC Engine look on the GBA?

The PCE emu for the GBA looks better .. from what I remeber, though I could only get 2 games to run on it, and they ran kind of slow.

I think I could give you my thoughts about yoyo and what he is doing.
So, he is improving the asm core, removing bugs, improving stability, compatibility for opensnes (for both gp32 and zodiac). But since it's a long and annoying (very, very very, or more ?) task, in the same time, he's making things more fun : porting emus for the zodiac.

Not 100 % sure, but it's for me the best explanation, don't you think ?

If people could understand that, they wouldn't say always"he's abandonned us "etc..

Guysolo, the guy who knows ( )
