Hi,
i got a big problem.
i really don't get it to work...every movie is CRAP afterwards i converted it.could anyone help me out and just send me the perfekt virtualdub settings for gpcinema?
the size of the files is not important.
i just want to watch a movie with good video and audio qualitites.
please do me a great favor and send the settings as a .vcf to me: Ryujin@gmx.net
and please don't link to these faq's i read them all and they didn't really help me....

*hope*

Well if you've tried every faq and guide and still don't like the results, what do you expect someone elses settings to achieve?

To be honest theres so many variables and personal preferences involved that it would be silly to get someone elses settings.

As a rough guide:

Audio: 22khz 32kb mp3 mono
Video: 320x240 XviD (from www.entware.com) 20fps 110~180kps

do you need to OC to 166mhz when running at 20FPS ?
I find 20fps to be the optimal setting.

It seems to me that 24fps was just a little too much for my gp, it can manage 166 in all other apps but kept stuttering in GPCinema.

The blurring of the LCD means that 20fps is still perfectly clear and made 24 look brilliant!

Download movielink from www.entware.com (joygp) and use it on a few files. It does everything automatically, but only uses 10 fps. It will give you a good idea to start from.

I run that at 166 yes, it avoids any chance of stuttering as apparently you only need 150 to run 20fps films. I think i tested it at 150 once and it was fine, don't currently have any GP files to hand though as 24 finished last week!

Word of warning, do not place the video bitrate this high
a) because above 190 your justing wasting space as GPCinema cannot process that much info
B) i'm pretty sure i read in a post concerning GPCinema the other day that divx 4.12 is buggy on the gp above 120, but i may be very wrong on this.

for cartoons like the simpsons i find that a 1 kbit setting in divx 4.12 compression is good enough quality. Coupled with 32kbit 22khz mono audio setting, this leaves a 20 minute cartoon show at just under 20mb's.
