Im am about to sell this bull shit gp32 the site is down. And when i baught the flu ver.i taught i was getting the latest one then i see the NEW BLU ver for the same price i payed for the flu where can i get the free launcher from besides the gp32 english site?

If you're selling it, why the fuck do you need the freelauncher app?

Just put it into GAME folder. If you dont have GAME folder, format your SmartMedia card using a PC LInk software. All needed folders are created automatically during format process. Thank just copy all free launcher software to the GAME folder. Thats all.

In case something won't work DON'T start another topic. Keep asking with this thread.

have you installed any software besides freelauncher... you need to add programs to the gpmm folder... otherwise freelauncher has nothing to launch...

Mind if I ask you what extension the freelauncher file you put in GAME has? If its .fpk, then it needs installing before you can use it - .fpk files are packages. Choose "install" from the PC-Link menu, then choose the Freelauncher file, and hit go. Hopefully it won't crash. Then you should be able to run it from Game.

If, on the other hand, its showing up in Game, and the files had .gxe and .gxc extensions (i.e. you already installed it), but it isn't doing anything when you select it, then you probably have a dodgily encrypted one not to your PDUID. So, in that case, use GPS2 on darkfader.net to get your PDUID (the complete one - the one from pressing a combination of the L and R buttons in some order I can't remember isn't complete), then go to #gp32 on efnet and type !applist and follow the instructions. Then install the file you're presented with in due course. If nothing happens, try asking for help in there, but you may need to join #gp32dev since typically its more active - either way, there will be people to guide you through it in one of the two channels.

Finally, if it is running but coming up with bizarre Korean text every time you run it, then you need some .fxe files in GPMM.

Hope that lot has helped :)

EDIT: Oh, and just in case you don't get what it says in the FAQ about getting onto IRC...

1) Go to http://www.mirc.com
2) Click "Download". Click any of the links; they all go to the same file. Download it.
3) Run that file. Mirc should install.
4) Run mIRC - there should be a shortcut on your desktop now; if not check the start menu.
5) Fill in some dummy things into email and "Full name". They are necessary, but they don't have to be true.
6) Fill in what you want other people to see in the "Nickname" section. No spaces allowed, along with a few other characters, but I can't quite remember which ones they are...
7) Click "OK"
8) Type, in the line at the bottom of the "Status" window "/server irc.efnet.net" (minus the quotes)
9) Once that eventually connects, close the room selecting dialogue, since its useless.
10) Type "/join #GP32" and press enter.
11) Congratulations you're on IRC :D

tell me where and whats the easy fxe file i should try?
Maybe v1.45 of gpadv.fxe .... gloop ?

The gp32 is more or less a homebrewsoftware machine and it takes a little figuring out how to run the homebrew stuff. It´s not possible to just switch on the gp32 and have all the emulators you want without configuring anything. But if you buy a commercial game on an SMC and stick it in your gp32 it´ll run without any configuring. Maybe you should have read up on the gp32 fist before buying it....

It seems to be very hard for you to just go read some faq´s and guides first before asking to be taken by the hand and have other people telling you step by step what you should do again and again. It is not hard at all, just read some stuff!

www.gp32emu.com has some good places to start reading those things.

If you turn on your gp32 and there´s just 2 options there play / pclink and a bouncing ball you will probably not need freelauncher and you´ll be able to put the fxe files into the gpmm directory on your SMC and run them....

hey... I didnt get a response to the email I sent you explaining how I got the free launcher... did i make a mistake and not send it right?

well... Tobriand said the same things better... so no worries.

-- Also.. not to step on anyones toes.... (specifically the more experienced users) I know some people have had their units a long time... and all the problems etc seem so obvious to you... just try to remember how you would feel if you paid 200 bucks... and it didnt work like you expected... its frustrating... and then remember that the company who made it only speaks KOREAN... and us newbies feel a little helpless...

but since Im new like you... im feeling a lot of the same frustrations...

one person wrote maybe you should have researched it more before you bought it.... that might be true or not... i dont know...

But i dont think you can be held responsible for not knowing that the Gamepark website works only 3 days a month.... (haha)...
also... how could you just know where to go online to get alternative versions of the free launcher?

also... the whole euro firmware thing.... if thats what it is... mine came in the FLU version which isnt supposed to have it.... (so no reading would prepare you for that either)

.... so... dont feel too bad...

also... even if you know windows... this thing isnt a PC... so its not even that intuitive unless youre into programming etc...

But... i do think this thing is going to be worth the trouble... and i think you should buy a card reader like i will... and that will probably make things ALOT easier...

well... good luck... and hang in there

It´s true I have had my gp32 for a long time, only recently acquired my 2nd one, a 166Mhz BLU. So one would expect me and other long(er)-time users to confortly wade in our all gp32-knowing altered mindstates playing all the emulators we want with just a snap of our fingers.....

What I did before actually buying the gp32 was lurk around the boards, reading the faq´s and tutorials just to make sure what sort of device I was getting and what sort of problems I was going to encounter. Ok, it´s not a gameboy advance where you just slide a cartridge into and away you go playing games. If you want to play homebrew stuff on the GBA you will have to apply yourself and read some faqs/tutorials aswell.

It sucks if you pay 200 bucks for something and run into unforseen problems that cannot be solved. But that is not the case here! The thing is most problems can often easily be solved if you apply yourselves a bit and read about the machine´s tutorials and the faq´s. At least that is what I did. Asking obvious questions that can easily be solved is very annoying, it´s like rewriting the things stated in the tutorials and faqs over and over again - people are not so much inclined to do so.....

www.gp32emu.com
www.gp32news.com
www.gp32spain.com (throw it through altavista´s babelfish translator if your spanish is rusty/non existent)
and this site are very usefull getting your information.

----- and here I go rewrite some of the faq´s.......

When you switch on your gp32 and you see a white background, a rotating bouncing ball & 2 options play and pc link than you WILL NOT NEED to use freelauncher - the bios supports running fxe files from the gpmm directory.

When you switch on your gp32 and you see a yellow background, three balls with pclink games and mp3, then you WILL NEED freelauncher to be able to run fxe files. The freelauncher you need, will have to be signed for your device. You´ll need to register your device at gamepark, you will then be able to download the freelaunch file and you´ll need to install it into /games
or use the pclink program to do so.

The first thing I´d recommend doing as soon as you got freelauncher working => flash your gp32 with aquafish´es multifirmware or a firmware that doesn´t need freelauncher!

;)

Mark...

i wasnt trying to be mean... im just looking at it from my side... I did exactly what you did... checked online... saw problems... read about what i needed to expect...I dont know if this guy did or not... im trying to give him the benefit of the doubt... and a little empathy cuz im feeling similar issues myself...

I looked online... and EVERY site i looked at said *FLU* needs the free launcher... so i did what my research told me to do... and found it... (turns out i didnt need to waste my time cuz i have euro firmware)

my instruction booklet said to do it too.... plus the gamepark websites english is down... so... how can one prepare for that in advance?

When I wrote that response-- he hadnt said that he had the KOREAN version yet... and I took a shot and thought maybe thats what he neeeded.

-- No i never expected this process to be as easy as a gameboy advance... I have made the decision that I will accept emulation that isnt perfect (no sound is ok enough for me.... maybe it will be better later... maybe not... but ive accepted it)

if you look at the way i have asked for help... ive never demanded it.. just took what others were willing to give... which is what i thought this forumn was all about.

--- I do admit that I did write a lot of posts asking for help about the PClink software.... But someone out there should just write a FAQ that says

DONT BE A BLEEPING CHEAPSKATE>>> SPEND THE EXTRA BUCKS AND GET A SMC READER WRITER AND FORGET THE PCLINK GARBAGE AFTER YOU FORMAT YOUR CARD!!!! IT ONLY COSTS TEN DOLLARS.

I think if someone had that in a faq--- i would have been alot better off. (I honestly didnt know that SMC reader writers were that cheap)--- so i give your point a little more credit now that i think about it... if id researched THAT aspect... i would have saved myself time and trouble...

but still.... this is a help forumn.... not a HARDCORE PROGRAMMERS ONLY forumn... so I was just trying to let another newbie know he wasnt alone...

I think were probably on the same page views wise.... just at different ends of the experience spectrum...

I really didnt mean to insult you or anything...
