i turned on gp and i was about to pick a game when the screen flickered and turned white and the speakers started buzzing. Now every time i try to turn it on the led flashes quickly and the speakers buzz. What happened and is this fixable?
Please help! :( :( :(

Sounds like there may be a short somewhere. I've had a similar problem before when I had my FLU, where it wouldn't power back on properly and I could here a buzz from the speakers (i had messed around with the internals though).

Is yours a FLU or BLU?

If its a BLU and you can't send it back and can't get it fixed, then I'd happily buy it off you for the LCD ;)

[EDIT] And I think my problem was due to a short, possibly in the LCD cable. I think it somehow affects the rest of the GP32, i.e. with the LCD unplugged my GP32 would boot fine <--I could get to the Korean firmware screen and hear selection sounds.

At the risk of being stupidly repetitive, check the batteries! We've had numerous people around here that used those "25 for a dollar" batteries that didn't work even when they were new... then when they finally replaced them with good quality alkalines or whatever, the problem went away :)

Hi,

I have similar problem after i didn't play the machine for several months. After i have put a fresh batteries and turn on the gp32, i found the same problem. Also the spell of the message on GP32 become wrong, i.e. some of the letters become flashing in some words, e.g. game -> gime and i is keep flashing....

I think the reason for this is somehow the firmware is not working well and i have read Mr. spriv website for the information and that may because of some of the GP32 has the firmware self-erase problem.

Any other comments on this problem? I also need help to fixing my GP32.

Regards,
Anthony
