I have brand new non flu GP32 and when I launch GPCinema it can plays the moives but instead the sound there is this strange noise coming from speakers (the moive is ok as its work on other GP32). I can't also launch official MP3 player but somehow can launch other games like Vertical by Synkro and everything (sound and GFX are ok). Any idea what can be wrong? Memory or maybe CP or maybe something else ?
Thanks in advance

How come you got a non-flu? Just wondering. Are you using the european launcher?

o btw, i found the first post from this forum, this community did grow.

GP Cinema is ok, as i use thi smc to test GP32, and it works with other gp32. I am pretty sure it's hardware problem, but need more informations :)

Hando - Do you have the problem with any movie, or just one ?
I've had this problem with some encoded movies in GPCinema, which played OK with MoviePark on the GP32 and on the PC with Windows Media Player.
I'm using the new euro firmware.

i would say its a problem with the mp3-decoding since gpcinema also uses mp3`s for sound.
i think the games uses wav.

so the decoding chip could be damaged. but it could be other problems too.
i dont know much about that its only what came in my mind when i heard your prob :p

I think this is the most likely reason - remember that MoviePark was not written by GamePark, but by another company - Varovision, so it's possible that its MP3 routines are different to that of GPCinema, or the official MP3 player.

hando can u play mp3`s with madmp3 or another mp3-player ???
i think it could be a problem in the mp3-decoding chip.
btw. i dont know if the GP32 decodes mp3`s with a chip or by software.
if it uses a chip i would say it is damaged.

hope i could help :D

Seraptin - didn't you read my comment ?
If MoviePark can play MP3 sound that GPCinema can't , then it can't be a hardware problem !

i wanted to help hando :p
i dont know what your problem could be
maybe u encode the movies with the false frequensy or somethink like that ;)

Guys, please read posts more carefully.
GP Cinema is ok, as i use this smc to test other GP32, and it works with other consoles.
To make it even more clear:
I tested 5 GP32 with the same SMC where I put GPcInema and short trailer, and everything was ok. I tested the sixth one and instead of sound there was only noise and mp3 player didn't even started but somehow I managed to launch and play Vertical by Syncro. Then I tested another 5 GP32s and they were OK what means that movie was playing properly and the mp3 player worked well as well.

SO it is not a GPCInema problem. I suspect it means hardware problems but would like to know if it can be main CPU or memory or maybe something else.

This is only a guess :) but does GP Cinema run on the duff GP32? If so try clocking it higher or lower and see if it makes a difference. (Press R). In some threads on this board, there have been people with GP's unable to play certain files because the clock was 100mhz - 99mhz (that 1mhz makes the difference) etc.. and yes its probably hardware at fault.
