How Do You Port?

get easyporter gui v2.14 (only for winxp and up)
its very easy, you just slect the sourcecode and click at the destination platform, it takes a minute and its portet and optimized.
you also need the gp32-portfile.13 you can find both at google.

You need at the very bare minimum the original source code for the game.

Then you step through the source code, line by line, trying to find things that are unique to the platform the source came from, and methodically changing them to the appropriate functions for the GP32.

Then once you've done all of this crap, you build it for the GP32 and spend months trying to determine if your manhandling of the source has caused new and fun errors in program execution. Naturally, there's always some component of the GP32 SDK that doesn't satisfy x requirement, so you have to go around for weeks on end trying to find a way around a certain limitation of the hardware, the storage space, the amount of RAM, or something as simple as the development kit.

This kind of crap is why there are giant software "port houses" that just crank out localized, and happily converted games.

In short, you probably won't do it alone. Chances are you won't even do it without being really good friends with one of the developers, and you definitely won't do it with source code or even a good idea of how the game data is put together so you can attempt to replicate the game from scratch (which is a hellish process).

The sad thing is, I got all excited until I saw it was only for XP (I'm using 2000)
