i was taking my gp32 apart to spray it and everything went all good and dandy. I got the sparying done very nicely and came back in to my house. i started to ut my gp32 back together, but lcd screen cord woulddent go in. I poped off the reciver thingy that you put the cord into and got the cord in but now i cant make my screen work. i think i might have damged it but i dont have a fu*king clue. if you have any idea what the hell is wrong plz respond.

most important thing is to make sure it's seated properly. Sometimes there's a little clip thing you have to disengage before inserting the cable (I assume you mean the flat ribbon cable) and the re-engage to clamp it in (but this doesn;t seem to appear in all GPs)

This is how I destroyed my first 2 FLU units. I put the ribbon cable back in on both of them, but the LCD just didn't want to work for me.

I could get a picture by wiggling the cable into certain positions, but could never get it to stay in those positions properly.

I hope you manage to get yours working though!

If by "receiver" you mean the actual socket that the lcd ribbon plugs *into* then that is bad. It would be possible to repair the socket by soldering a bunch of small wires back to it. That would be alot of work but doable. Time to get out that soldering iron if it is the recepticle itself which is normally soldered to the board that popped out.

Had exactly the same problem, when i tried to spray my GP32 (unlit) I couldn´t manage to get the ribbon off the board. So i decided to put it back together and leave my GP white. But when it was put together, and i turned it on, it just gave me weird pictures and stuff. I thought: shit I killed my GP32, but i didn´t give up. I disasembled it again, and i pressed the ribbon back towards the MB itself. I fixed it that way, but only for a few weeks, the scrren started to get weird once in a while, and the picture would just be ok, if I smacked my GP32 from the side. But I also fixed that problem, by putting a bit of folded paper underneath my LCD, so the ribbon gets permanentaly pushed onto the board.

Wow, shit happens!

Luckily, when I disassembled my GP32 for spraying it, I didn`t had this problem, cause I didn`t remove that cord from the mainboard. I just removed the board with the screen...

I think thats a better method to use, but I have a non flu unit, so its likely that this doesn`t work with flus or blus (can`t tell `cause I don`t know)
