hmmm carry lots of disks around in my pockets (more stuff to lose, expenditure to buy em) and having to decide which ones to take everyday when i commute or going holiday, hey i just take my enitire music collection ok battery lasts 10 or so hours i can live with recharging it once a week.

Also the Philips isn't that greater player HDD100 compared to the current good players Karma/Ipod/Iriver IHP-140 and the battery isn't that great hence the poor battery life.

I understand what you mean by having it all on the Hard Drive, But what If the harddrive gets corrupt :p

You just resync and copy it back off your pc, takes bout 20 odd mins to copy 20 gig back...piece of pish

Whats the Quality Comparisons like?

Like whats teh Sound Quality of a MP3 Player like compaired to a MD Player?? I usually record my MD's on LP4 and they sound exactly the same as the CD.
Depends on the way you encode the files. I encode in -aps or -ape and i get very good quality MP3s

MP3 players have far better sound quality, I don't know how you can listen to MDs on LP4, when I had an MD player I recorded stuff on LP2 and found the quality waay too bad, LP4 is FM radio quality, which, at least for me, is not good enough. MP3s recorded at 192 Kb/s or 128 minimum is for me.

Maybe it was your Mini Disc player Because Recording on LP4 with the MZ-N1 Net Minidisc player (That I have) the Quality is Excellent (Identical to the source)
