Compatibility List For New Drmd

Wow, DAC support! That's outstanding. I was already amazed at the quality of the emulator, but everytime I check in on these boards I see something else to make me even more excited :D Reesy, thanks for rockin' the house so much!

Yeah!, SEEEGAAA I`ve just tried it and it blood amazing :D .
I`m listening to it now, And its sweeeet, Seeegaaa, Seeegaaa. Oh and you can hear the drums and everything, The music and sound effect are complete. Reesy, You are a GOD. .

Its a really nice emulator. Finally can play sonic 2 on my gp with full sound.

A compatibility list in a forum tho is gay.

Ricos old compatibility list for genemu was good, some1 do something like that. Im to lazy.

I disagree, I rather like it on the forum. The old list was very good though.

@ Reesy- Don't know if this ones been mentioned yet. Raiden Trad boots up, but during ingame theres a solid black bar on the right hand side and the game crashes soon after. Not a cyclone bug either; game runs fine in fgen32 (sans sound of course).

This emu is great. Thank you for your hard work

Reesy, my man - thought you were a genius when I spent hours playing away on DrSMS, now I *know* it :D

Know that your work is much appreciated, even all the way over here in Australia.

By the way, if you ever make it to Oz, let me know - I think I owe you a nice cold beer or three :D

yeah very nice indeed, just had a blast on Outrun and you get the voice saying "get ready" and "checkpoint" ... simple but effective. Oh and there's that SAAYGAA but I don't really give one about that ;)

Reesy, you might like to know the the music in outrun (magical sound shower) has slowed right down since v1.0, but I realise the beta I've got is very work in progress so you may know this already

yep, hopefully I'll fix that today.

Its do with the fm status, in older versions of DrMD the sound was rendered twice a frame but I've changed it to only update once a frame now to make implementing the DAC a bit simpler.

The problem with running it only once a frame is you only get the fm status once. So if the fm status gets changed multiple times in a frame, these changes are not seen by the sound rendering code. Once I get the fm status cached in a buffer it should fix the music in most games ( if not all....maybe ;) ).

Later

One thing I'm a bit annoyed about... The B-button works similarly to the A-button while saving states... I'm Pavlovially conditioned to think "B" as a cancel button.... :p Press it enough times, and you return to emulation. etc.

Other than that... When's it out?
I have brank spanking new smc just waiting for it.

On my mothers name if it weren't Xmas and I weren't broke (well over $1500 spent this Xmas) I'd paypal you some money Reesy. I bought my GP32 expecting sweet Genesis and TG16 emulation, but when it showed up, ended up feeling let down as TG16 was left forever unfinished with no savestates, and Genesis seemed up in the air with only decent emu's available none fully featured. Within such a short time V1.0 of DrMD came out and made me go from regretting buying a GP to loving it and taking it with me everywhere I go.

For all you Beta Testers... I envy you like you could not believe... and Reesy if you ever need another one look no further! For what it's worth (not much) I used to be a bug tester for Activision so know how to write good detailed bug reports....

Pleeeeeez let this new version come out soon... Reesy you are making us very happy but tormenting us at the same time... any idea when you might release this new version?

If I sell some blood and paypal you some money can I get it earlier? :D :p

Not for a bit. I've had too many negative comments in the past when I've released something that wasn't quite right. So I try to keep public releases as bug free as possible, this takes alot time of though.

I'm currently only distributing beta's to DrMD VIP's :), ie people that have donated some dosh. It may sound unfair but hey thats life. It just means that the donators get treated better than the free loaders.

Of course any other developers here on the boards that contribute to the wealth of software on the GP32 are welcome to a beta, just send me a pm. But the rest of the "takers" will have to wait... or get programming.

Say, since you've gotten the DAC working with no extra MHZ-cost, could/would it be possible to have MegaCD support one day? I quess it would have to be MP3 based, and I'm not quite sure how much additional oomph that would require... Just a thought. Always wanted to play Mickey Mania with CD music. :)

does sega cd have another processor in it?
like the 32x did

if in some magical world it was implemented that would open so many more rpgs to gp32

pm me your email address, I'll sort something out tonight some time.
