I know for the longest time, It has been the norm to do audio in MpegLayer 3
however, not all movies I have can be encoded in GP32 friendly format with this
you have to have either 11 or 22 or a similar pattern number ( 44 ..... etc ) hz to work, it wont work on GPCinema with other settings, and also with no audio
however, for me to reach my goal of giving to the community ( read my sig ) ( I am finding the settings for all to enjoy )
Ive found my Codec of choice, better than Xvid or DivX , and runs full frames per second ( up to 30 ) at 166 mhz where neither of the others can play without being chopy
Ive made many other breakthroughs at 120mhz with full speed, but this is about audio
so..

what other " codec " can I use for compressing audio that works on GPCinema 2 ??
and , what hz does it work at?
I have a lot of vids that the only audio options from MpegLayer3 is numbers divisable by 8, not 11 , and they wont work
so, could you help me and inturn mabe help the whole community?

thank you

Why don`t you just try the codecs you can choose in VDub (or the program you use for your encoding)?

But I think there is no codec besides mp3 that works.

But I don`t know exactly.

I think that you can only use mp3, but what really sucks is that if you have a file without audio gpcinema wont play it

Edit: have you got the realmagic codec now working for long movies (you said they became suddenly very large)?

as stated, I am not done ( my review and findings of the codec is well over 11 pages typed ) and my current progress puts out full fluid frames ( up to 30 frames ) and it is slightly better quality than the " normal " ( more than 128 bit = better quality ) with 24x22 on the audio in mono
I am curently at 1.2826 megs per minute, and my goal is under 1 minute
also, it all runs at 166
andm if your a die hard Divx-Xvid fan, I just spanked your settings with mine
28.51 megs vs 32.2 megs for the same video, and it wont run above 19 frames with either Divx and Xvid

I win , and soon, we all will

Oh, no. It's war of the Codecs again. What he means is, once he finds out what
works the best, it'll help us all just by him telling us what he finds out.

well, everyone else just sits on the standard settings in the GP32emu read me or goes lower , and they fight about whats better, with no physical proof
I , however, have done documented tests that others can also do

also, other people seem to be lazy and not search for great encodes, just complain about how the videos suck

like I said somewhere, I am taking either Game design clases or Fuel Cell/Nano-Technology engeniering courses ( not sure, fun or money...... )

so, till I can code, i will encode ( lol.... that was sad.. )

just trying to do my part to help the community
GPFW didnt seem like enough to me ( but others thought so )

but how are the long movies, 2 hours or longer?

well, theres the thing
I dont happen to have a 2 hour movie on me that VirtDub will encode in proper audio
GPCinema on works with the listed, numbers by 11 , not numbers by 4 , 8 , or 12
However, even If I did, I only have a 32 meg card ( yah, it blows ) and the longest actualy watched on GP32 is my 23:32 ( kinda ironic time lol ) clip from a DVD rip of Black Hawk Down
Actually, if you want me to, I can encode the hour long clip ( BHD is in 2 720 meg files , movie split in 2, high quality ) I can encode the Black hawk down and find out
but I would rather encode a 700 meg full movie than a 1.5 gig movie, it would be smaller , and I have a few 600-700 meg movies that are a litle over a hour and a half
Ill see what I can find and post it in my review thread
