Hi Everyone,
I realise this question has been asked before and I have looked through the gpcinema forum for the answers, however I still cannot seem to get the encoding of avi files right, to play back on gp cinema!!! I have converted a few Mpeg music vidoes to avi using virtual dub and the file size shoots right up from 30mb to about 80mb ??? anyway to cut a long story short, I have put these file into both the gp:movies file and the gpmm file, (though not at the same time), loaded up gpcinema, located the file, and been presented with details of file size, video quality etc, but the file either does'nt respond or more often kicks me out and goes back to the start up screen with the play or pc link options ..... this is a BLU+ unit that I have would this make a difference?

Please, please, please can anyone talk me though this conversion process???

Thanks a million
Steve
(ps. I really have tried and don't mean sound so pathetic) ..........

Can you post the settings you made with VDub?
That means:
Codec, resolution, bitrate, Soundcodec, soundquality settings, etc.,
so we can look at it, and perhaps find your problem?

what codec did you use to encode it to avi?

make sure you use either DivX or XVid or else it won't work

I have a Blu+ and use gpCinima.
GPCinima 1 works. GpCinima 2 has the white line problem.

As long as you encode with Divix or Xvid the movie should show up in the play list.

The bit rate and most of the other video setting wont matter if they are set to high it will just hang a bit durring playback.

The folder that you put the movies in doesn't matter.

What I have noticed is that if the sound is not set to either 22,050mhz or 11,025 mgz the file will try to load and will not. It will restart or hang on a black screen.
